Unfortunately, due to double taping by my wife and me (Sound of Music), I can only review the first new Pawn Stars tonight and I will get the other episode tomorrow afternoon, Pacific time. Sorry.
In the first episode, the first guy brought in a steam engine educational toy from the 2000's and that the guy put together. It worked and it powered a Ferris wheel. Rick offered $75. The guy went to $100 and that was the sale price.
The story line was the Old Man was getting a hair cut at the barber shop. The name of the barber shop was "The Barber Shop" and the Old Man had been going there for 30 years. The shop had a bunch of young guys there and more high style. It was a shop that the customers and owners like old cars. Corey took him there and got a hair cut as well and tried to buy a car as well.
The next guy brought in a Kunzite stone. http://www.modernjeweler.com/web/online/Colored-Gemstone-Gem-Profiles/Kunzite/1$510
The Kunzite was real after the store's gemologist checked it out. He said it was worth $30-50 a carat and it weighed over 300 carats. The guy wanted $15,000 and Rick offered $5000 and then $6000 and finally $6500.
The next lady, Dr. Dahlia, http://doctordaliah.com/ , brought in a bone saw from the Civil War in which it was used to amputate fingers and toes and it looked like an old small hack saw. She also brought in a civil war bullet along with the saw. She wanted $400 for the saw. Time for an expert, the Beard of Knowledge, Mark and Mark said he didn't think it was a surgeon's saw but a child's saw from a tool set. Now she had just a small rusty saw. Chumlee wanted to her pay her to get rid of it. No sale.
Tomorrow, I will have the 2nd episode done in the afternoon. thanks for stopping by.
Update: here is the 2n episode review:
Thank you for coming back for Part 2 of Pawn Stars review, the 2nd episode.
In this episode, the first guy brought in a 1951 Pan Head motorcycle. The motorcycle brought in had larger handlebars. http://www.caimag.com/wordpress/2009/11/04/harley-panhead-motorcycle-photo-gallery/
The Pan Head is a relative of Harley Davidson.
The guy wanted $19,000 and time for an expert, Chris Richardson, from LA Speed Shop out of Alhambra, CA http://laspeedshop.com/ Long way to get an expert. Corey took the bike for a test ride, even though the bike did nt have a license plate.
Chris thought the bike was worth about $15,000. Corey offered $10,000 and the guy came down to $15,000 and Corey went to $13,000 and the selling price was $13,500.
The next lady brought in a 1908 Concert Roller Organ, as seen on the right.
The lady wanted $600 for the organ.
Rick offered $400 and the lady went to $500 and Rick went to $450 and that was the sale price. Time for an expert to see if they can fix it up. Roy Page from Roy's Repair o Rama came in. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Roys-Repair-O-Rama/215547691795694
Check out the guy's side burns. Roy took it to refurbish it and said it it could sell for $3000.
The story line was Rick going for a manicure. Umm, maybe good for him but not for me. Corey went the manicure and a pedicure and Lilli went along with them. (check out the sunglasses on Corey- they look like Ray Charles glasses.) Not so manly, Corey. They went to Body Spa West in Summerlin: http://www.bodyspasalons.com/
At least Rick didn't go for the nail polish.
The next guy brought in a Babe Ruth Red Rock Cola poster with a picture of Babe Ruth on it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Rock_(beverage)
The guy wanted $2000 and Rick said a lot of the posters were made. Rick offered $400 (even though on the Internet, they are going for $20) The selling price was $400.
Thanks for stopping by... again.
