Look: A Big Arena Paid For By A Company-No Taxpayer Support

When a professional team says they need a arena or stadium and they say they need taxpayer support, tell them to look at the new MGM arena in Las Vegas.
From the LVRJ:
The big day is finally arriving!
On Wednesday, MGM Resorts International and Anschutz Entertainment Group open the T-Mobile Arena with a concert by The Killers.
We all know what that means: higher numbers of clueless people trying to find their way around; incessant whining about having to pay for parking; more idle threats from people who say they will never patronize MGM again — until, of course, a big event that the complainers really want to see is scheduled.  http://www.reviewjournal.com/opinion/columns-blogs/road-warrior/let-the-big-events-begin-t-mobile-arena-along-the-parking
MGM and AEG built the arena in a reasonable short time and probably a few million dollars less than if taxpayers help pay some of the costs.
So, yes, there may be some complaining from locals from Vegas about paying for parking but they would howl even more if everyone was asked to help for the arena through their taxes.
