When Did The People Of New York City Become Wimps?

Typical New York City Citizen

From the New York Times: Some of the most common and most powerful prescription painkillers on the market will be restricted sharply in the emergency rooms at New York City’s 11 public hospitals, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg said Thursday in an effort to crack down on what he called a citywide and national epidemic of prescription drug abuse.
Under the new city policy, most public hospital patients will no longer be able to get more than three days’ worth of narcotic painkillers like Vicodin and Percocet. Long-acting painkillers, including OxyContin, a familiar remedy for chronic backache and arthritis, as well as Fentanyl patches and methadone, will not be dispensed at all. And lost, stolen or destroyed prescriptions will not be refilled.
City officials said the policy was aimed at reducing the growing dependency on painkillers and preventing excess amounts of drugs from being taken out of medicine chests and sold on the street or abused by teenagers and others who want to get high.
“Abuse of prescription painkillers in our city has increased alarmingly,” Mr. Bloomberg said in announcing the new policy at Elmhurst Hospital Center, a public hospital in Queens. Over 250,000 New Yorkers over age 12 are abusing prescription painkillers, he said, leading to rising hospital admissions for overdoses and deaths, Medicare fraud by doctors who write false prescriptions and violent crime like “holdups at neighborhood pharmacies.”   http://www.nytimes.com/2013/01/11/nyregion/new-york-city-to-restrict-powerful-prescription-drugs-in-public-hospitals-emergency-rooms.html?hp&_r=1&
Regardless of Bloomberg thinks of himself, he is neither God or a doctor.  He shouldn't be setting policy in the hospitals and interfering in the doctor-patient relationships.
And yet, the sheeple of New York City will follow along like they are- a bunch of weaklings with little or no spine.  They will not stand up to this pathetic human being.
What this will do is increase the number of emergency room visits by the poor and those who are unable to see their personal doctors on a timely basis.  Maybe NYC has a perfect health care system, where people wanting to schedule doctor appointments can in and see their doctor within 3 days, especially if they have to go to the ER on a Friday night.
So, when did the people of New York City become such wimps and to allow themselves to be bullied by some pip squeak mayor?

Idiot Bill Maher Owes Trump $5,000,000

From Fox News:
Comedian Bill Maher may have bit off more than he can chew with a challenge he issued to Donald Trump.
On Monday night’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” Maher mocked Trump’s offer to President Barack Obama prior to the November election to release his birth certificate in exchange for $5 million donated to the charity of the President’s choice.
Maher, probably jokingly, offered to donate $5 million to the charity of Trump’s choice if he would release his own birth certificate to prove The Donald was not the “spawn of his mother having sex with orangutan…”
But the “Celebrity Apprentice” star set out to have the last laugh. In a letter, obtained by Yahoo, Trump’s lawyer responds to Maher’s offer with a copy of Trump’s certificate and instructions for money promised.
“Attached hereto is a copy of Mr. Trump's birth certificate, demonstrating that he is the son of Fred Trump, not an orangutan. Please remit the $5 million to Mr. Trump immediately and he will ensure that the money be donated to the following five charities in equal amounts: Hurricane Sandy Victims, The Police Athletic League, The American Cancer Society, The March of Dimes, and The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.”

Good for Donald Trump on calling out the not very funny, Bill Maher.
And I certainly hope that Maher pays up.  After all, Maher can afford it because he is a 1%er and he will be helping charities with his money.

How Can The Fed's Be Serious About Gun Control When This Happens?

From the Minneapolis Star Tribune: A semi-automatic pistol found near the scene of a gun battle in Mexico where five people died, including a Mexican beauty queen, has been traced to a former federal gun agent in Minnesota who was part of the government's controversial Fast and Furious border gun-tracking operation.
The Justice Department's inspector general has confirmed that it is investigating allegations that an FN Herstal Five-seven handgun tracked from the area of a Nov. 23 shootout in Sinaloa was linked to George Gillett Jr., who oversaw Operation Fast and Furious from October 2009 to April 2010.
Gillett played a central role in a similar Twin Cities gun sting a decade ago that was shut down after several government-tracked guns were connected to violent gang crimes. He later worked in Arizona and has offered himself as a witness in the Republican-led congressional probe of Operation Fast and Furious, which led to a U.S. House contempt vote in June against U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
The new probe, confirmed in a Dec. 21 Justice Department letter obtained by the Star Tribune, focuses on alleged purchases of at least three firearms by Gillett while he was the assistant special agent in charge of the Phoenix field office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). He has since been reassigned to Washington.
While the ATF has been criticized for losing track of U.S.-sold guns trafficked in Mexico, Gillett's case represents the first time that a weapon recovered south of the border has been tied to an official with the ATF. The powerful Five-seven was limited to military personnel and law enforcement until 2004. The ATF has said the weapon is a favorite of Mexican drug cartels, and those smuggled across the border can command top dollar in Mexico. http://www.startribune.com/local/186252532.html
If the Fed's can't control their own guns, why do they expect their laws will solve gun violence.
Remember Fast and Furious?  The program which killed a Border Patrol Agent, Brian Terry?  An no one was held responsible?  Remember the cover up by the Department of Justice and the Obama administration?  Remember all that?  And these same morons that are going to come after your guns.  Talk about being irony.

Did Harry Reid Do Something Right?

Apparently, Sen. Harry Reid actually has done something good for conservatives and probably will tick off the liberals.
From Hot Air: By golly, Nancy Pelosi was right — they didn’t know what was in ObamaCare until it passed! Of course, in this case all she needed to do was ask her buddy Harry Reid, who apparently sandbagged his party’s gun-control wing by inserting an interesting clause in the 2800-page bill that no one in Congress bothered to read before voting on it. CNN’s Jim Acosta reveals the restriction on firearms-registration data collection built into the 2010 law:
The reason Reid inserted this clause, CNN reports without ever having actually talked to Reid (he declined comment), was to make the NRA “benign” in the ObamaCare fight — and to push back against “conspiracy theorists” who claimed that the bill would allow Barack Obama to start grabbing guns. Hey, that would never happen, right? Sure.
In any case, this isn’t that much of a bar on Congressional action. What can be done in this manner can be undone in the same manner. I’d keep an eye on any thousand-page bill rushed to the floor in this session to see if Reid reverses course.  http://hotair.com/archives/2013/01/09/video-secret-gun-rights-provision-in-obamacare/
And from Brietbart:
It seems that in their haste to cram socialized medicine down the throats of the American people, then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Barack Obama overlooked Senate amendment 3276, Sec. 2716, part c.
According to reports, that amendment says the government cannot use doctors to collect "any information relating to the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition."
CNN is calling it "a gift to the nation's powerful gun lobby."
And according to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV), that's exactly right. He says he added the provision in order to keep the NRA from getting involved in the legislative fight over Obamacare, which was so ubiquitous in 2010.  http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/01/09/Backfire-Obamacare-Forbids-Gun-and-Ammo-Registration
The left will probably say Harry didn't mean it or that he was out of his mind, which all may be true, but this amendment may just stop some of these stupid ideas the federal government may have about gun control.

New York Going To Confisicate Weapons

From the New Daily News: A charged-up Gov. Cuomo Wednesday demanded that state lawmakers “stop the madness” of firearms violence and lead the nation by passing America’s toughest gun controls.
He used his State of the State address to detail a sweeping plan that includes banning assault weapons with military features, limiting large capacity magazines to a maximum of seven bullets and allowing police to confiscate the guns of anyone considered mentally unstable.
“Gun violence has been on a rampage as we know first-hand and we know painfully,” he said in an 80-minute address at a convention center near the Capitol.
“We must stop the madness my friends. In one word, it’s just enough. It has been enough.”
And a deal appears near....
In making his case, Cuomo invoked that shooting and the Newtown tragedy.
“It’s simple,” Cuomo said. “No one hunts with an assault rifle. No one needs 10 bullets to kill a deer. End the madness now.”
He added that he is a gun owner, himself, and his proposal “is not taking away people’s guns.”
“That is not what this is about. It is about ending the unnecessary risk of high-capacity assault rifles.” He said he knows “the issue of gun control is hard. I know it’s political. I know it’s controversial. But we are proposing today common sense measures.”
“I say to you — forget the extremists,” he added, in an apparent shot at the National Rifle Association.
In addition to banning all assault weapons with military features and limiting large capacity magazines, Cuomo’s plan calls for closing a loophole in the current law weapons ban that allows assault rifles and large-capacity manufactured prior to 1994 — when they were outlawed — to continue to be sold privately.
If enacted, owners of firearms newly branded illegal will have to register them with the state and would be prevented from selling them within New York, a Cuomo aide said.
They would not be able to keep the ammunition magazines, however, the aide said.
Cuomo also proposed replacing a patchwork of licensing requirements across the state with a single standard that would require all gun licenses to be renewed every few years
He is also seeking to close a loophole that exempts the sale of firearms between private parties from federal background checks.
His plan would ban direct Internet sales of ammunition in New York and require state checks on all ammo purchases.
Just like Hitler, Stalin, Mao and other tyrants, they all came after the guns in the name of stamping out violence.
And even if New York State enacted all these laws, what 100% guarantee will there be that there won't be no more violence involving guns and there will be no more gun massacres?
All these laws will do is rip legally purchased guns and gun parts from people who are law abiding citizens.
The ruling Democrat dictators are now on the state level.

Security Gator?

Mr. Teeth
From the San Fran Chronicle: Burglar alarms and pit bulls to protect your pot stash? Sure. But an alligator?
That’s what Alameda County sheriff’s deputies encountered about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday when they conducted a “probation compliance” check of a home in Castro Valley.
While at a home on the 19000 block of Mount Jasper Drive, they found 34 pounds of processed dried marijuana and a live — but ill — 5-foot alligator in a Plexiglas tank in the bedroom. The reptile, named “Mr. Teeth,” acted as a deterrent against marijuana thieves, said sheriff’s Sgt. J.D. Nelson.
Mr. Teeth’s owner, Assif Mayr, 32, got the alligator in 1996 “to commemorate the death of rapper Tupac Shakur,” Nelson said.
“We come across guard dogs like pit bulls quite frequently, but a guard alligator is very very unusual,” Nelson said.
Mayar was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana for sale and was taken to Santa Rita Jail in Dublin, where he is being held in lieu of $160,000 bail.
Mr. Teeth was taken to the Oakland Zoo. Zoo spokeswoman Nicky Mora said the gator is “very sick” and is being treated at the zoo’s veterinary hospital. Per protocol, the alligator is put into quarantine for 30 days after arriving at the zoo.  http://blog.sfgate.com/crime/2013/01/09/gator-found-guarding-castro-valley-pot-stash/
In Las Vegas, I have seen pit bulls and even security turtles in the back yards of a couple of houses.  It would not surprise me if there is a security gator or 4 in Las Vegas, with all the drug houses we have.

No One Elected To Baseball Hall Of Fame

From the Chicago Tribune: The 569-member jury of the Baseball Writers Association of America issued its version of a guilty verdict Wednesday to those confirmed, admitted, accused or suspected of participating in what has become known as baseball's Steroid Era.
And while some assumed innocent players may have suffered, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens and the Cubs' Sammy Sosa — despite record-breaking accomplishments — were left on the outside looking in at the nation's shrine to the national pastime.
For only the eighth time in history, and the first time since 1996, no players were selected to the Baseball Hall of Fame after the 2013 ballots were tallied.
The only inductees for the July 28 ceremonies on a grassy lawn in quaint Cooperstown, N.Y., will be those three selected by the special veterans committee.
"Obviously, no one in Cooperstown was rooting for a shutout," said Hall of Fame President Jeff Idelson, "but we have a great respect for the process."
Closest to reaching the 75 percent vote necessary for induction were former Astros second baseman Craig Biggio (68.2 percent), former World Series hero Jack Morris (67.7), Biggio teammate Jeff Bagwell (59.6) and longtime Dodgers catcher Mike Piazza (57.8).  http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/ct-spt-0110-baseball-hall-of-fame--20130110,0,3682541.story
I have mixed feelings.  I have no doubt that Barry Bonds used performance enhancing drugs, but it hasn't been  proven.
Even if Bonds did take the PED's, he still has to have the talent to hit a 95mph fastball or a curve ball.  His hand-eye coordination had to be brilliant to be able to hit so many baseballs and so far.
As far as Roger Clemens goes, he still had to make his pitches dance so that baseball hitters could not hit the ball.  He also had to have the ability to change the speed of the pitches to keep[ the hitters off guard.  Clemens also says he never took steroids.
So, was it the right decision by the baseball writers to keep these superstars out of the Hall of Fame?  Short of an admission or evidence of wrong doing then they deserve to be in the Hall of Fame.

The Dictator At It Again

Hopefully, the trial balloon the White House sent up today will go pop goes the weasel.
From the Weekly Standard: Vice President Joe Biden revealed that President Barack Obama might use an executive order to deal with guns.
"The president is going to act," said Biden, giving some comments to the press before a meeting with victims of gun violence. "There are executives orders, there's executive action that can be taken. We haven't decided what that is yet. But we're compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required."
Biden said that this is a moral issue and that "it's critically important that we act."
Biden talked also about taking responsible action. "As the president said, if you're actions result in only saving one life, they're worth taking. But I'm convinced we can affect the well-being of millions of Americans and take thousands of people out of harm's way if we act responsibly."  http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/biden-obama-might-use-executive-order-deal-guns_694984.html
Just think if George W. Bush threatened to use an executive order to outlaw abortions, how do you think the left would react?  Probably with riots, looting and nasty editorials saying that Bush was acting like a dictator and was Hitler in drag.
And Obama is a Hitler in drag and if he goes through with the executive orders, he runs a huge risk of causing a civil war.

Who Cares What The Nanny Says?

From the LVRJ: Former state Sen. Sheila Leslie called on the governor and Legislature Wednesday to increase taxes on the rich and mining industry so state government can fund needed improvements to public education and mental health services and rebuild a state devastated by recession.
"Instead of policies that promote the greater good and shared prosperity, our tax system has created a Donner Party mentality of primitive survival, even if it means sacrificing our children," said Leslie in a speech delivered over the Internet on behalf of the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada.
Leslie, a longtime Democrat who lost the state Senate District 15 race in Washoe County to Republican Greg Brower by 266 votes in November, was one of the most liberal lawmakers during her 14-year legislative career.
PLAN, an umbrella advocacy organization that represents more than 40 liberal-leaning groups in Nevada, presented Leslie's speech as its own state of the state address. It comes a week before Gov. Brian Sandoval delivers the actual State of the State address Wednesday. The Legislature opens Feb. 4.   http://www.lvrj.com/news/leslie-plan-call-for-tax-increases-on-rich-mining-in-nevada-186245311.html
So, we have an extreme liberal who got beat in this past elections because of her views, so why does the LVRJ even write a story about what she and the other liberal groups want?  (Then again, why am I writing about this?)
For more about this idiot nanny: http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2011/03/super-nanny-shelia-leslie-strikes-again.html
Why is it even news that liberals want to raise taxes on the rich?  Hell, it's in their DNA.

No To Any Obama Economic Appointee

As a matter of common sense, anybody that President Obama seeks to confirm in his administration that has something to with budgeting and economics has to be disqualified from seeking the job.
Take Jack Lew.  Please take him and get rid of him.
From The Hill: The top Republican on the Senate Budget Committee will oppose Jack Lew's nomination to be Treasury secretary.
Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) has prepared a statement saying "Jack Lew must never be Secretary of Treasury."
He is not saying yet whether he will filibuster the nomination, however, which sources say President Obama will announce Thursday.
Sessions expects that the Lew nomination will fail in the Senate, an aide said.
The senator says Lew misrepresented Obama's 2012 budget by claiming that it did not add to the debt.
"His testimony before the Senate Budget Committee less than two years ago was so outrageous and false that it alone disqualifies," according to the Sessions' statement, which was obtained by The Hill in advance.
Sessions says in his statement that Lew, as the president’s budget director told Congress the budget "would not add to the debt of the United States."

What has Obama and his ilk done to help the economy in the past 4 years?  Unemployment, taxes, federal deficit, cost of healthcare and just about everything Obama has promised would go down, instead has skyrocketed.  Their lame excuse? Oh, it could have been worse.
The only thing worse is that there are too many suckers who actually believe Obama and actually think he is working for them.
So, to any Obama appointee who has previously served in his administration or is in lock stopped with the idiot has to be turned down for the job.  Any job.  Including being the dishwasher at the White House.

They Should Name It "Obamaissm"

From Fox News:
A new analysis of the American Freshman Survey, which has accumulated data for the past 47 years from 9 million young adults, reveals that college students are more likely than ever to call themselves gifted and driven to succeed, even though their test scores and time spent studying are decreasing.
Psychologist Jean Twenge, the lead author of the analysis, is also the author of a study showing that the tendency toward narcissism in students is up 30 percent in the last thirty-odd years.
This data is not unexpected.  I have been writing a great deal over the past few years about the toxic psychological impact of media and technology on children, adolescents and young adults, particularly as it regards turning them into faux celebrities—the equivalent of lead actors in their own fictionalized life stories.

On Facebook, young people can fool themselves into thinking they have hundreds or thousands of “friends.” They can delete unflattering comments. They can block anyone who disagrees with them or pokes holes in their inflated self-esteem. They can choose to show the world only flattering, sexy or funny photographs of themselves (dozens of albums full, by the way), “speak” in pithy short posts and publicly connect to movie stars and professional athletes and musicians they “like.”
Using Twitter, young people can pretend they are worth “following,” as though they have real-life fans, when all that is really happening is the mutual fanning of false love and false fame.
Using computer games, our sons and daughters can pretend they are Olympians, Formula 1 drivers, rock stars or sharpshooters.  And while they can turn off their Wii and Xbox machines and remember they are really in dens and playrooms on side streets and in triple deckers around America, that is after their hearts have raced and heads have swelled with false pride for “being” something they are not.

You also see it on reality TV shows and even during sporting events.  Even in high school sporting events, you see the players jumping up and down and fist pumping for making a basket that a 5 year old could make.
As an old fart, I've never understood the fascination with Facebook and especially, Twitter.  Facebook, I understand, can be used for communication, but Twitter- who really care what a person thinks in 140 characters.  Who cares if you are going to the store or restroom or if you had a good time dining out.  I suppose you can the same thing about blogs, but blogs are more in depth and generally talk more about issues than what you had for dinner, what was in your pooh or who is good looking or not.
So, I do believe that narcissism is on the rise and with President Obama being one of the biggest narcissist in the country (Donald Trump probably is the first and the Kardashians being second, followed by Obama)
So, in honor of President Obama, we should name the new era of narcissists: Obamaissists and the disease is Obamaissism.
Who says I am always mean to Obama?  I'm giving him credit and naming some mental illnesses for the guy.
Now, maybe we can name something after Harry Reid?

Can We Bottle Up This Weather?

Today, Las Vegas had a beautiful day, with a high of about 67, depending where you live, with no wind and hardly a cloud in the sky.
These are the days you wish you could bottle up and save for use when it is 114 degrees outside with high humidity.
Of course, it won't last, as we are getting a cold front come through starting Thursday, when the highs will only be around 55 and lows around 29.

Would The Catholics Riot And Kill People?

I was watching a new show for me, "Betty White's Off Their Rocker's" on NBC.  It's a show that shows a bunch of old farts pranking some younger people.  Kind of funny but not that funny.  Kind of like an R-Rated Candid Camera but more fast paced (shoot, some of the actors could been the young victims on Candid Camera)
In one scene, though, they had two old actresses dressed up as Catholic nuns, riding their bikes near a beach or trail and then they yell and give the finger to the pedestrians.  They shouted something to the effect "Move it bitches".
In the 2nd episode, the same actress, dressed as a nun, swore and demanded some girls swear in front of her.
I wonder what would have happened if the show mocked Muslims the same way?  There would be rioting in the streets, with killings, some kids and women would have been raped and tortured, all in the name of religion.
The degradation of religion in America continues.

Land Of The Obama FIB's

From the Chicago Sun Times: On the last day of the lame-duck legislative session, Gov. Pat Quinn and the Democratic-led Legislature laid a gigantic goose egg Tuesday by failing to deliver a fix to Illinois’ paralyzing $95 billion pension crisis.
By the end of the day, the House adjourned without so much as taking a vote on either a plan carried by state Rep. Elaine Nekritz (D-Northbrook) that would have cut retirement benefits for public employees or on a separate, last-ditch alternative by Quinn that one union critic derisively dubbed a “desperate Hail Mary.”
Likewise, a Senate-passed plan favored by Senate President John Cullerton (D-Chicago) that would have made retirees choose between forgoing either a cost-of-living boost or state-subsidized health care never saw the light of day in the House.
The anti-climatic end to the 97th General Assembly had even the powerful leader of the House, Speaker Michael J. Madigan (D-Chicago), at a loss for words as he contemplated starting the whole process of pension reform from scratch this spring.
“You know, it’s kinda hard to have thoughts, isn’t it?” Madigan said as he left the Capitol. http://www.suntimes.com/17467879-761/lame-duck-session-ends-with-no-pension-reform.html
But they had time for this:
Gov. Pat Quinn signaled his intent Tuesday to sign legislation that would grant undocumented immigrants three-year state driver’s licenses, saying the measure that passed the House rids Illinois roads of “a dangerous risk.”
“More than 250,000 immigrant motorists on our roads today have not passed a driving test, which presents a dangerous risk to other drivers,” Quinn said in a statement that announced his plans to sign the bill. “Illinois roads will be safer if we ensure every driver learns the rules of the road and is trained to drive safely.”
After a highly charged debate, the Illinois House passed the measure by a 65-46 vote, a result that lit up the chamber with celebratory shouts and applause and grants as many as 250,000 undocumented immigrants new legal recognition by the state.
“Under the eyes of God, we’re all human beings,” said Rep. Edward Acevedo (D-Chicago), the bill’s chief House sponsor. “We come to this country — people come to this country — to fulfill the American dream. We can offer them that today.”
Debate in the House lasted nearly 90 minutes, with critics arguing the new immigrant drivers licenses put the state on record as condoning illegal entry into the country, set up a system that can be exploited by fraud and ignore the fact immigration policy is a federal responsibility, not a state one.
“There will be fraud, abuse. All I have to say is people have called me a hater, a racist,” said Rep. Randy Ramey (R-Carol Stream), who voted against the plan. “All I’m doing is standing by what the Constitution of the United States of America says. If the fed government wants to change the rules, I’d stand by that.”  http://www.suntimes.com/17464095-761/quinn-to-sign-bill-allowing-undocumented-immmigrants-drivers-licenses.html

Wanna Bet This Pastor Is An Obama Supporter

From Detroit Free Press: Kwame Kilpatrick’s pre-Christmas gift from a Chicago pastor has the former mayor in trouble again with his parole officer.
It’s not that Kilpatrick received the $2,000 in cash on Dec. 11 in a transfer to a Walmart in Chesterfield Township. It’s that Kilpatrick lied about it, according to Michigan Department of Corrections spokesman Russ Marlan. When a parole officer questioned Kilpatrick last Friday about whether the former Detroit mayor had reported all income and gifts he received for December, Kilpatrick said that he had, Marlan said Tuesday. “It appears to be deception regarding finances,” Marlan said. “This isn’t the first time this has occurred.”...
Chicago pastor Corey Brooks told Fox News the money was a gift, and Kilpatrick solicited it from him.
On his Twitter feed @KwameAndFamily last night, Kilpatrick both thanked and apologized to Brooks for the "tremendous invasion of privacy." Brooks @CoreyBBrooks, in turn, this morning responded, "I will continue to pray for u and the family and if you need me again I am here!!"

Let's see.  Black pastor from a poor church in Chicago.  Gives money to a Black crooked politician from Detroit who served time in prison.
I'm pretty sure the pastor was not a supporter of Mitt Romney.

Happy In Life, Happy In Death

From the Detroit Free Press:
In death, as in life, William and Edna Kreger were nearly inseparable.William Kreger, 96, a former mayor of Wyandotte, died Friday. Edna Kreger, 97, died the next morning, just about 12 hours later. “It’s like my dad came to get her,” said the couple’s son, Conrad Kreger.A shared funeral mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wyandotte. Kreger said his parents met as teenagers at Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte. They were married for 76 years and had six children.
“My dad never went to bed without kissing her goodnight and telling her he loved her,” Kreger said.

What a cute and lovely story.

What The Hell Is Going On In The Air Force?

I used to be proud to say I was in the Air Force, but not so much any more.
From the Houston Chronicle:
A woman testified Tuesday that a Houston-area Air Force recruiter doggedly pursued her in 2011, when she was a 17-year-old high school senior, sending her lewd text messages and naked photos of himself.
Now in the Navy, she accused Tech. Sgt. Jaime Rodriguez, 34, of trying to coax her into a sexual relationship and later told her not to talk with people about it.
“'If anyone found out, you do realize that both of us would get into trouble?'” the woman, identified as Female 15, recalled him saying.
An Air Force investigation began after her mother found the text messages and photos.
Agents tracked down 18 women who claim Rodriguez, a 13-year Air Force veteran, tried to initiate sexual relationships with them.
Eight witnesses took the stand Tuesday in a Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland courtroom for a hearing that could lead to court-martial.
The hearing continues today.
http://www.chron.com/news/military/article/Court-told-recruiter-became-a-predator-4174226.php
First it was the drill instructors and now recruiters.  No wonder some women hate the military.
I just wonder if this has spread to other branches of the armed forces and we just haven't heard about it yet.

RIP To "Ralph The Doorman"

From the San Fran Chronicle:
Ned Wertimer, who played Ralph the Doorman on all 11 seasons of the CBS sitcom "The Jeffersons," has died.
Wertimer's manager Brad Lemack said Tuesday that the 89-year-old actor died at a Los Angeles-area nursing home on Jan. 2, following a November fall at his home in Burbank.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y., and a Navy pilot during World War II, Wertimer had one-off roles on dozens of TV shows from the early 1960s through the late 1980s, including "Car 54 Where Are You?" and "Mary Tyler Moore."
But he was best known by far as Ralph Hart, the uniformed, mustachioed doorman at the luxury apartment building on "The Jeffersons," the "All In the Family" spinoff that ran from 1975 to 1985.

They Just Realized This Now?

Apparently, some people (mainly liberals) have to be hit over the head with a two by four, run over by a train and then hit in the stomach by Mike Tyson's hardest punch ever before the realized Al Gore was a piece of crap.
From the New York Daily News: Just call him Al Gorezeera.
Yesterday morning, the still shell shocked staff at Current TV was called to an all hands staff meeting at its San Francisco headquarters, which was teleconferenced to their offices in LA and NYC, to meet their new bosses.
That would be two of Al Jazeera’s top guys: Ehab Al Shihabi, executive director of international operations, and Muftah AlSuwaidan, general manager of the London bureau.
Ominously missing was the creator of Current, the self proclaimed inventor of the Internet and savior of clean energy, Al Gore, although his partner, Joel Hyatt, stood proudly with the Al Jazeera honchos.
“Of course Al didn’t show up,” said one high placed Current staffer. “He has no credibility.
“He’s supposed to be the face of clean energy and just sold [the channel] to very big oil, the emir of Qatar! Current never even took big oil advertising—and Al Gore, that bulls***ter sells to the emir?”
The meeting, while not contentious, was, according to staffers who spoke on the condition of anonymity, miserable.
The mostly left-leaning group—some still in denial —weren’t buying what Al Jazeera was selling.
And what are they selling? Al Jazeera’s image of —are you ready?— “inform, inspire and entertain!”...
How do they feel about Gore the savior of green energy now?
The displeasure with Gore among the staff was thick enough to cut with a scimitar.
“We all know now that Al Gore is nothing but a bulls***ter,” said the staffer bluntly.
We do stories on the tax code, and he sells the network before the tax code kicked in?
“Al was always lecturing us about green. He kept his word about green all right—as in cold, hard cash!”  http://www.nypost.com/p/entertainment/tv/current_situation_XLE3W50v6I9Gbyqe6Z4pFP

I Don't Believe It

Yep, I'm very skeptical.
From jsonline: America set an off-the-charts heat record in 2012.
A brutal combination of a widespread drought and a mostly absent winter pushed the average annual U.S. temperature last year up to 55.32 degrees Fahrenheit, the government announced Tuesday. That's a full degree warmer than the old record set in 1998.
Breaking temperature records by an entire degree is unprecedented, scientists say. Normally, records are broken by a tenth of a degree or so.
"It was off the chart," said Deke Arndt, head of climate monitoring at the National Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C., which calculated the temperature records.
Last year, he said, will go down as "a huge exclamation point at the end of a couple decades of warming."
The data center's figures for the entire world won't come out until next week, but through the first 11 months of 2012, the world was on pace to have its eighth warmest year on record.
Wisconsin, especially the southern portion of the state, certainly helped break the U.S. heat record.
Milwaukee and Madison had at or above normal mean monthly temperatures every month except September and October. The 2011-'12 winter was among the five warmest, spring was the warmest on record, and summer was in the top three hottest. Plus a drought gripped much of the southern half of Wisconsin throughout the summer and autumn.
Madison broke and Milwaukee tied the record for warmest year. Madison's warmest year had been 1931, when the mean temperature - averaging the daily high and low temperatures - was 51 degrees. Milwaukee's warmest year also was 1931, with a 51.9-degree mean temperature.
But last year Madison's mean temperature was 51.3 degrees. And Milwaukee hit 51.9 degrees, tying it for warmest year.
Scientists say the U.S. heat is part global warming in action and natural weather variations. The drought that struck almost two-thirds of the nation and a La Niña weather event helped push temperatures higher, along with climate change from man-made greenhouse gas emissions, said Katharine Hayhoe, director of the Climate Science Center at Texas Tech University. She said temperature increases are happening faster than scientists predicted.  http://www.jsonline.com/news/usandworld/us-roasts-to-hottest-year-on-record-by-landslide-mh8a2ka-186098291.html
First, anything that comes out of the Federal government nowadays has to be viewed as non-believable.
Second, small increases in temperatures generate few headlines and fewer grant money awards.
But my guess is that in a few days, the Obama administration will come out with new regulations to supposedly clean up the air.
But it is it a coincidence that the hottest temperatures come in Obama's administration, after years of trying to clean up the environment with all their regulations and programs.

Idiot Professor In College News

Actually, beyond idiot.
From Fox News: The top official in Newtown, Conn., strongly condemned a Florida professor who recently sparked outrage for questioning whether last month's horrific school massacre in the Connecticut community really happened.
James Tracy, an associate professor of media history at Florida Atlantic University, made the bizarre claim on his personal blog memoryholeblog.com, writing that the shooting that left 20 children and six adults dead may have been a government drill -- or may have not even occurred.
"It is outrageous and an insult to all caring people to think that this man would chose this event as a stage for his outlandish conspiracy theories," Newtown First Selectman E. Patricia Llodra told FoxNews.com, calling his statements "wrong, inconsiderate and insensitive."
Tracy, who did not return calls for comment, told the Sun-Sentinel he considers his conspiracy-mongering a scholarly endeavor.
“I describe myself as a scholar and public intellectual interested in going more deeply into controversial public events,” he said. “Although some may see [my theories] as beyond the pale, I am doing what we should be doing as academics.”
Llodra didn't agree.
"Professor Tracy is an embarrassment to me as an educator and should be to you as well," she said. "I can assure you, sadly, that the events here in Newtown unfolded exactly as are being reported."...
In a posting titled “The Sandy Hook Massacre: Unanswered Questions and Missing Information,” Tracy questioned how Adam Lanza was able to fire off so many shots in such little time and noted a lack of surveillance video or still images from the gruesome crime scene.
“Inconsistencies and anomalies abound when one turns an analytical eye to news of the Newtown school massacre,” Tracy, 47, wrote. “While it sounds like an outrageous claim, one is left to inquire whether the Sandy Hook shooting ever took place — at least in the way law enforcement authorities and the nation’s news media have described.”

Yes, there are questions that need to be answered.  For instance, NBC reported that the gun used in the killings was a hand gun but much of the media is fixated on the so called assault rifle- the Bushmaster, as being used in the killings.
But to say this was a government drill or didn't happen is just stupid.
The sad thing is that this guy is being paid by the taxpayers of Florida and is covered by tenure, so he cannot be fired.
Another idiot in education.

Another Why People Hate Government

From the Newtown CT. News Time:
A prominent New York City developer balked when he was ordered to shave a foot off the height of two 5-foot granite posts he had installed at the driveway entrance to Katharine Hepburn's former estate along the Connecticut shore.
A veteran of navigating zoning rules and regulations, Frank Sciame thought the local historic commission didn't have the authority to issue the order in 2010. His response? Place foot-high flower beds at the base of the posts and tell the commission he was complying with its order.
That didn't sit well with the Historic District Commission of the Borough of Fenwick in Old Saybrook, which began court proceedings that culminated Monday in a state Appellate Court ruling against Sciame, who owns the estate.
The state's second-highest court upheld a lower court ruling and dismissed Sciame's claims that the commission overstepped its authority and inflicted emotional distress on him by making him lower the posts. At a public hearing in June 2010, commission members said they were concerned that the height of the posts made them too visible from surrounding areas, including local streets and a golf course.
The Appellate Court ruled that Sciame didn't appeal the commission's decision within a required 20-day period and that the claims of emotional distress were not legally sufficient.
Sciame's Milford-based lawyer, Genevieve Salvatore, said she wasn't pleased with the court's rulings but respected them. She said no further appeals were planned, and the posts already have been lowered to the required height.

A guy builds a 5 foot high granite post and the government goes all tyrannical on the guy- orders him to lop a foot off, then sues the heck out of him.
1 foot people are going to know the difference from a golf course and become upset about it?
There are a lot of these so called "historical commissions" around the country who have unelected thugs on them who like to throw their weight around.  They have kept ugly buildings up, killed projects that could have employed hundreds of people etc.
Too bad the government found a court that agreed with the tyrants.

Maybe Piloting Isn't In The Cards

From the LVRJ: Norman B. Ivans might want to think twice before he tries to land another airplane at the North Las Vegas Airport during the first week of January - if the Federal Aviation Administration lets him fly at all.
Ivans was at the controls of the twin-engine Piper Aerostar that crash-landed and then burned Wednesday at Nevada's second-busiest airport .
He was flying a different twin-engine Piper Aerostar when it crash-landed at North Las Vegas on Jan. 5, 2012 - exactly 363 days from one crash to the next.
"That was me," Ivans confirmed Monday when asked whether he was at the controls Wednesday when the Aerostar with tail number N3AG skidded off the runway. He and his passenger, flight instructor Gary A. Marsh, escaped serious injury before flames engulfed the cabin.
The latest crash was strikingly similar to the 2012 accident. According to a National Transportation Safety Board preliminary report, Ivans was trying to land his Piper Aerostar, tail number N104RM, at about 4 p.m. at the North Las Vegas Airport.
"Shortly after touchdown, the airplane veered to the left and departed the runway. It then veered right, crossed the runway and came to rest adjacent to it," the report said.  http://www.lvrj.com/news/vegas-man-crashes-two-planes-at-same-airport-one-year-apart-185957221.html
I'm sure his insurance company is pretty pissed at him so I guess, being a pilot will not be in his immediate future.

Custom Idiots Strike Again

Emma Watson, who looks adult enough on red carpet, was halted at JFK by agents who thought she was too young to travel alone

From the New York Daily News:
“HARRY Potter” actress Emma Watson has grown up on screen before her fans’ eyes, but customs agents at Kennedy Airport apparently still see her as a kid.
The 22-year-old Brit revealed Monday in a series of Twitter posts that she was mistaken for an unaccompanied minor when she flew into JFK over the Christmas holidays.
“The really sad thing is that this is not the first time this has happened,” an embarrassed Watson tweeted.
She said she was asked where her parent or guardian was when she went through customs.
“Passport control: ‘Unaccompanied minor?’ Me: ‘Sorry?’” Watson tweeted.
“Passport control: ‘Where is ur (your) guardian?’ Me: ‘I’m 22!!!!!!’”
She said the episode taught her a lesson: “Never wearing a backpack again,” she tweeted.

e San Bernardino Sun reports (http://bit.ly/13cHfeo ) 21-year-old Amanda Sorensen was arrested Monday after an initial investigation of the girl's death.
San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies went to an Apple Valley home Sunday and found the child suffering from a seizure after ingesting the kitchen spice. She was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Spokeswoman Jodi Miller says the girl is the daughter of Sorenson's boyfriend.
An autopsy will be performed to determine cause of death.
Sorensen is being held on $500,000 bail and is due in court Jan. 9.

There has to be something more than the kid ingesting chili powder to cause the cops to arrest the mother.

Scott Skiles Fires As Coach Of The Milwaukee Bucks

Hmmm, kind of strange because eof the timing.
From jsonline: A league source confirmed late Monday that Scott Skiles is out as coach of the Milwaukee Bucks after four-plus seasons.
The source said it was mutually agreed between the two parties that Skiles would no longer coach the Bucks, effective immediately.
Jim Boylan will take over as interim coach of the team beginning with Tuesday's home game against Phoenix, the source indicated.
Skiles was in the final year of his contract with the team. He originally signed a four-year deal in April 2008 and had his contract extended one year following the 2009-'10 season.
The final game in Skiles' term with the Bucks came on Saturday night as Milwaukee lost at Indiana, 95-80. The Bucks dropped four straight games last week to fall to the .500 mark, after they had improved to a 16-12 record with a 104-85 home victory over Miami on Dec. 29.
Skiles compiled a 162-182 record in his time with the Bucks and led the team to one playoff appearance in four seasons. The only time the team had a winning record was in 2009-'10 when it went 46-36 and advanced to the Eastern Conference playoffs.
The Bucks lost in seven games to Atlanta in the first round of the playoffs that year.
But Milwaukee fell to 35-47 the next year during an injury-plagued season and was 31-35 during the lockout-shortened season a year ago.
Skiles experimented with several lineups this year and the Bucks won six of their first eight games. They are 14-8 against Eastern Conference foes but just 2-8 against the Western Conference thus far.
This will be the second time Boylan has succeeded Skiles as coach of an NBA team. Boylan finished the final 56 games of the 2007-’08 season as interim coach of the Chicago Bulls after serving as Skiles’ lead assistant.
Boylan also has been Skiles’ lead assistant with the Bucks for the last-four plus seasons.  http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/185970581.html
It's kind of surprising that the human cadaver, Buck owner, Herb Kohl greed to this firing.  But now that he is retired from the U.S. Senate, he has nothing to do, so he decided to intervene in something he really knows nothing about- basketball.
Funny- Skiles was fired right after the first of the year, while football coaches were fired before the first of the year, to save on taxes.  Maybe Kohl thought Skiles was a 1%er and didn't need the extra money.

Not Ready For Primetime

Oh well, Notre dame got to experience something most colleges don't- making it to the national championship game in a college sport.
Unfortunately, Notre dame also embarrassed themselves when they had their chance to shine.
From ESPN: The coach no longer wears houndstooth. The result is the same. Another Alabama dynasty.
uieting the Irish by the first play of the second quarter, Eddie Lacy, AJ McCarron and the No. 2 Crimson Tide rolled top-ranked Notre Dame 42-14 for the BCS championship Monday night, locking up a second straight national title and third in four years with another laugher of a title game.
The Bear would've been especially proud of this one -- Nick Saban and the Tide romping to the second-biggest rout of the BCS era that began in 1999.
Lacy, the game's offensive MVP, ran for one touchdown and caught a pass for another in the final minute of the opening half, spinning away from the vaunted Notre Dame defense not once, but twice, to cap a 28-0 blitz before the bands even got on the field.
Lacy finished with 140 yards on 20 carries, coming up with two of his best performances in the two biggest games of the year. He rushed for a career-high 181 yards in a thrilling victory over Georgia in the SEC title game, and was nearly as dominant against the Irish. McCarron wasn't too shabby, either, completing 20 of 28 passes for four touchdowns and 264 yards, adding another dazzling effort on top of his MVP in last year's title game.  http://scores.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=330070333
Better luck next year, Fighting(Cowering) Irish.

Senile Harry Reid At It Again

From Fox News:
Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter ripped Majority Leader Harry Reid for suggesting the damage from Hurricane Katrina was "nothing" compared with the damage from Superstorm Sandy.
Reid, D-Nev., made the comments last week when Congress was taking up a $9 billion disaster-relief bill for the East Coast, which is still reeling from Sandy.
“The people of New Orleans and that area, they were hurt, but nothing in comparison to what happened to the people in New York and New Jersey,” Reid said.
Vitter acknowledged that Katrina and Sandy, in late October, were “horribly destructive storms that caused real human misery,” but argued that Katrina “by any measure” was the worst natural disaster in U.S. history.
The hurricane hit the Gulf Coast region in 2005 and resulted in 1,833 deaths and more than $108 billion in damage.
“Sadly, Harry Reid has again revealed himself to be an idiot, this time gravely insulting Gulf Coast residents,” Vitter, the ranking Republican of the Senate’s Environment and Public Works Committee, said Monday.
Sandy, whose full force hit New Jersey and New York, caused at least 125 deaths and $62 billion in damage along the entire East Coast.
Reid apologized Monday, after Vitter's criticism.
"I simply misspoke," he said in a written statement. "I am proud to have been an advocate for disaster victims in the face of Republican foot-dragging, from Hurricane Katrina to Hurricane Sandy, from fires in the west to tornadoes in the Midwest. I have worked hard ... to ensure that the people of the Gulf Coast have the resources they need to fully recover. And I will continue to advocate on their behalf until the region is fully recovered."
Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/01/07/vitter-reid-katrina-sandy-comparison/?test=latestnews#ixzz2HMrDGlNc
Reid is a total embarrassment to the State of Nevada and there is something seriously wrong with his mental state.  He is not of sound mind with all his baseless attacks that only a person who has dementia or mental illness would make.
It's time for Reid to resign, not only as the Senate leader but also as senator from Nevada.  He is a disgrace and embarrassment.

Of Course She Is

From the New York Daily News:
It seems like the Octomom has gotten her tentacles back on welfare checks.
Five months after Nadya Suleman weaned herself off welfare, the mother of the world's most famous octuplets (and six other children) has filed again for government aid, sources told TMZ.
Suleman, who filed for bankruptcy last May, signed up for welfare this week and will be getting $2,800 a month in assistance, according to the gossip site.

At $2800 a month tax free (and I am sure that is not all she gets) equals $33,600 tax free income. Not bad for sitting on your bloated ass.

Burning Man, Hippie Fest Tickets $380

Anybody else see the irony of a hippie fest ticket costing $380?
From the LVRJ: Tickets for the Burning Man festival in Northern Nevada will soon go on sale, and some veteran participants complain the new prices are too steep.
Organizers of the eclectic art and music festival announced Friday that an allotment of 51,000 individual tickets will be available for $380 each.
Tickets opened at $240 last year, with prices steadily rising as the event approached, the Reno Gazette-Journal reported.
Of the 58,000 total tickets available this year, 4,000 will be available for $190 to those who qualify for the low-income plan. Another 3,000 tickets have already been sold as part of a holiday promotion.
Organizers scrapped last year's contentious lottery system and will offer tickets on a first-come, first-served basis.  http://www.lvrj.com/news/burning-man-tickets-to-go-on-sale-for-380-185763631.html
The hippies are now just screwing the little people, just like corporations do.  Maybe even worse.

Now, They Will Outlaw Cats

From the San Fran Chronicle: Look what the cat dragged in.
Guards at a Brazilian prison nabbed a white cat that slipped through the gate with a cell phone, drills, small saws and other contraband taped to its body.
Alagoas prison spokeswoman Cinthya Moreno says the cat was caught New Year’s Eve at the medium-security prison in the city of Arapiraca.
The O Estado de S. Paulo newspaper reported Saturday that all of the prison’s 263 inmates are suspects in the smuggling attempt, though a spokesperson said, “It will be hard to discover who is responsible since the cat does not speak.”

Now, wait for the liberals to outlaw cats.

Obama's Chicago: More Shootings

From the Chicago Tribune: An afternoon shooting in the Englewood neighborhood has left a man dead Saturday, a day in which at least 10 people were shot, according to authorities.
At 3:10 p.m. someone shot a male victim multiple times in the abdomen in the 5500 block of South Loomis Boulevard, News Affairs Officer Daniel O’Brien said.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was taken from the scene of the shooting in the Englewood neighborhood to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 3:52 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Police were questioning a possible shooter, News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
Saturday night about 8:30 p.m., a 39-year-old man was shot in the West Town neighborhood, police said.
The man was taken from the 1800 block of West Maypole Avenue to Stroger with a gunshot wound to the buttocks.

We're from The Government And We Are Here To Help

From Jsonline: The Golden Guernsey dairy processing plant in Waukesha that supplies milk to schools and supermarkets was closed suddenly Saturday when employees showed up for work and were told not to stay, sources said.
Lynn Hiemke, president of Mapleton Dairy Haulers in Oconomowoc, said he was told by Golden Guernsey managers early Saturday that the plant was shutting down.
Hiemke said he was stunned by the closing and left scrambling as he tried to find alternate supplies of milk for hundreds of local schools.
"There's going to be schools without milk on Monday morning - a lot of them - and they don't know it yet," he said.
The dairy operation at 2101 Delafield St. has been under new ownership since last year.
Open Gate Capital, a Los Angeles private equity firm, bought Golden Guernsey after its former owner, Dean Foods, was required to sell the plant to settle antitrust concerns.
The U.S. Department of Justice - along with attorneys general in Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan - had raised concerns that Dean Foods would have too much of a share of the school milk supply in Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. As a result, they required Dean to sell the Waukesha plant while allowing it to retain its dairy processing plant in De Pere, just south of Green Bay....
Dean Foods had acquired the De Pere and Waukesha plants from Foremost Farms USA of Baraboo in 2009 for $35 million.
The U.S. Department of Justice intervened the next year, saying the De Pere and Waukesha plants supplied more than 50% of the school milk purchased in Wisconsin and the U.P.
Hiemke said his company has been serving the plant, delivering milk to schools across the region from the dairy, since 1976. Mapleton has 14 employees.
"This could take me right under, and I think it's going to," he said.
"The Department of Justice has no clue," Hiemke said. "They have wrecked our plant. It's the federal government going in there, and they wrecked our plant."
Hiemke said he was working to find alternate suppliers for milk for the schools that have been buying Golden Guernsey. "I hope our schools understand we are trying as hard as we can," he said. http://www.jsonline.com/business/golden-guernsey-in-waukesha-suddenly-closes-sources-say-i488vri-185759901.html
So, the government forces a company to sell it's milk plant and the company buying it has no clue.
and now the plant is closing because the government got involved.  Further, the closing of the dairy plant will hurt children and other small business owners and employees.
Thank you government for screwing things up.

1 Down, 2 to Go

The Green Bay Packers defeated the Minnesota ViQueens, 24-10 at Green Bay.  Now, it's 2 more games before the Packers make it to the Super Bowl game.
From jsonline: Adrian Peterson is mortal after all.
The Green Bay Packers really can play run defense.
And Joe Webb, well, he isn't even Christian Ponder.
Taking full advantage of the Minnesota Vikings' missing starting quarterback, the Packers stymied Peterson and rolled, 24-10, in an NFC wild-card playoff game Saturday night at Lambeau Field.
The third-seeded Packers (12-5) were in control from start to finish in eliminating their border rivals, who were seeded sixth and finished 10-7.
Now Green Bay moves on to the divisional round and a date at 7 p.m. Saturday against the second-seeded San Francisco 49ers (11-4-1) at Candlestick Park.
The 49ers defeated the Packers, 30-22, on Sept. 9 in Green Bay. The Packers are 4-1 in playoff games at Candlestick, with the loss coming in the 1998 wild-card round on a last-second touchdown pass to Terrell Owens.
Peterson, who had lanced the Packers for 409 yards in a split of two games during the regular season, finished with 99 yards on 22 carries for a 4.5 average.
"Our defense was outstanding for four quarters," coach Mike McCarthy said. "They set the tempo and adjusted to the quarterback change.
"Played with leverage, played with discipline and obviously rallied to the football. He (Peterson) is a great player. He does a good job extending plays, like Aaron Rodgers does for us. I thought our defense played with great discipline."  http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/185760822.html
1 game at a time, but the Packers played very god today and they know they can beat the San Fran 49ers, so, next week will be a good game.
Prediction: Packers win by 7 over the 49ers.

Matt Ward: Racist Bigot Or Just Idiot?

Matt "Jerry Sandusky" Ward, editor of the Pahrump Valley Times shows once again he is a complete idiot, but we already knew that. But now, Ward takes it a step further by either being a racist bigot or just an idiot.
Ward starts off his editorial with his usual babble: Don’t go blaming Obama and the fiscal cliff deal on your smaller paychecks this week. The Social Security rate that you pay is going back up to 6.2 percent after being held at 4.2 percent for the past two years.
The price break for us working stiffs was “stimulus,” you see. (Stimulus over, make daddy sad, baby go hungry.)
That 2 percent amounts to about $2,000 a year. Hope you all enjoyed Christmas 2012, because Christmas 2013, things might be a little tight.
Hooray for big government! That little 2 percent increase means $120 billion extra dollars for the 113th Congress to misappropriate. Super.
  http://pvtimes.com/news/from-the-editor-fiscal-cliff-averted-debt-ceiling-disastrophe-awaits/
Then Matt "Jerry Sandusky" Ward comes with this: Of course, in defense of the politicians who no doubt traded their support for this latest corporate welfare for contributions to their favorite PACs or maybe a job for their wife’s slightly Mongoloid sister or what have you, some of these tax credits weren’t new. By no means. And heck, according to some reports, corporate lobbyists were busy as far back as this summer trying to find the most accessible piece of legislation to slip some of these into. Many of these were existing handouts that our corporate brothers and sisters (did I mention these are people like you and me!) wished to see extended beyond their expiration date.
So, "slightly Mongoloid sister"?  What the does that mean?  Is it a rip on the people who live in Mongolia?
Or better yet, is it a rip on the mentally retarded/Intellectually Challenged?  Many years ago, people who have Down Syndrome were called "Mongoloid" because of the way they looked- the narrow eyes mostly.
Obviously, Ward didn't want to use the "R" word- retarded, so he thought he would be cute, which he isn't.
Why this fool still has a job with Stephens Media, after all of his insults to his readers and his lack of advertisers, one never knows.  Maybe no one else wants to work in Pahrump?
But whatever the reason, it's time for Matt "Jerry Sandusky" Ward to go and leave Pahrump Valley Times.  Maybe he can work in a special education class, with "slightly Mongoloid" children.  Or fly to Mongolia, which is not a bad idea either.

Why Am I Not Surprised

From Yahoo News: Back in 2009, President Obama’s “Cash for Clunkers” program was supposed to be a boon for the environment and the economy. During a limited time, consumers could trade in an old gas-guzzling used car for up to $4,500 cash back towards the purchase of a fuel-efficient new car. It seemed like a win for everyone: the environment, the gasping auto industry and cash-strapped consumers.
Though almost a million people poured into car dealerships eager to exchange their old jalopies for something shiny and new, recent reports indicate the entire program may have actually hurt the environment far more than it helped.
According to E Magazine, the “Clunkers” program, which is officially known as the Car Allowance Rebates System (CARS), produced tons of unnecessary waste while doing little to curb greenhouse gas emissions.
The program's first mistake seems to have been its focus on car shredding, instead of car recycling. With 690,000 vehicles traded in, that's a pretty big mistake.
According to the Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA), automobiles are almost completely recyclable, down to their engine oil and brake fluid. But many of the “Cash for Clunkers” cars were never sent to recycling facilities. The agency reports that the cars’ engines were instead destroyed by federal mandate, in order to prevent dealers from illicitly reselling the vehicles later.  http://news.yahoo.com/why-cash-clunkers-hurt-environment-more-helped-024848694.html
It seems like that almost every liberal policy the Obama administration has attempted has failed or did not do what they have said.  The auto bailouts, stimulus plans and the cash for clunkers were major failures.
And besides hurting the environment, it also hurt the used car business, which in turn hurt the poor by limiting the cars the poor could by.
A Volvo being destroyed for cash for clunkers. At the video, you will see how the Cash for Clunkers was horrible for the environment.

More Bad State-Religous News

This is a wrong decision by the government.
From the Houston Chronicle: A Harris County court has ruled that authorities at a Houston church discriminated against a disabled woman when they banned her from worship after she raised concerns about restroom accessibility.
Malaika Adan filed suit in 2010 against Beth Yeshua HaMashiach, a church of about 100 for Jewish and non-Jewish believers, after she was asked not to return to services temporarily after a conflict over the facility's restrooms, court documents show.
A summary judgment signed on Dec. 19 sided with Adan and said that she was banned from the church after she complained and tried to assert her rights as a person with a disability. The church was ordered to pay Adan, who uses a wheelchair, $1,000 in statutory damages and more than $52,000 in attorney's fees.....
On Feb. 11, 2010, she received a letter from Beth Yeshua authorities banning her from the worship facility for six weeks.
"I was extremely taken aback," Adan said. "I simply brought the problem to someone's attention and they overreacted."
The church's lawyer, William Cheadle, did not immediately return the Chronicle's request for comment. Worship leader Kathy Elowitz, who had just learned of the court's order Thursday evening, said the church did not plan to pay her any fee.
Elowitz said Adan was not asked to return because she "sowed seeds of discontent" among other church members who are disabled, which she says represents 20 percent of the congregation, and disrespected the pastor.
"We accommodate the handicapped and we do not discriminate," she said. http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Court-Houston-church-discriminated-against-4168147.php
First, I really think it is inappropriate for a government agency deciding who can and cannot attend church services.  What ever happened to the separation of church and state the liberals scream about?
Plus the person suing seems like a person who looks for Churches/businesses to sue after they have been denied access to a building/room/bathroom or whatever under the disability laws.
And if 20% of the congregation is disabled, why is she the only one who is having problems and decided to sue.
I hope the Church (the Church was rented out by the Church from another Church) appeals because this decision is completely wrong.

Why Dinosaurs Are Extinct

The brontosaurus outside the shuttered Prehistoric Forest in Irish Hills is unscathed, but some Fiberglas residents inside haven't been so lucky. Vandals have crossed fences and broken off the creatures' claws, paws and even some heads.

Darn global warming. and being held behind a small fence in Detroit and being victims of vandalism by caveman thugs.

Look Mommy, A Wrapped Present On The Airplane

Wish I could do that to some idiots in Congress.
From the NY Daily News:
So much for the friendly skies.
A 46-year-old Icelandic man was taped to his seat and gagged on Thursday during a New York bound flight after consuming an entire bottle of duty free alcohol and accosting several passengers.
A Reddit user who goes by the name Mezane posted the incredible photo of the subdued man and offered a first-hand account of the what led to the duct tape confinement.
“He drank an entire bottle of some duty free alcohol. Then he tried grabbing the women who were sitting next him screaming that we're going to crash,” Mezane wrote. “Finally he started chocking [sic] a guy next to him and that's when a huge crowd restrained him and tied him up. This was 2 hours into a 6 hour flight.”

Pelosi Doctors Photos

From the San Fran Chronicle:
San Francisco Democrat and House minority leader Nancy Pelosi’s proudest accomplishment in the November election was a new caucus where women, gays, Asians, Latinos and African Americans outnumber white males. It is the first time in history that white men have been outnumbered in any Congressional caucus. Pelosi often heralds her party’s diversity efforts by citing San Francisco and saying “the strength is in the mix.”
But at her press conference Friday, she found herself Friday defending a doctored photo of diversity. The photograph of women Democrats, taken Thursday with the swearing in of new Congress and posted on her Flickr website, showed four extra House Democratic women who were not in the original photo.
They had arrived late. Their images were inserted into the photograph. http://blog.sfgate.com/nov05election/2013/01/04/nancy-pelosi-defends-doctored-photos/
It used to be that one would say people are missing from a photo, but in the world of liberals, lying and doctoring photos is just fine with them.
If we can't trust them with a simple photograph, why should we trust them with real issues?

Violent Anti-Racist Thugs Go To Prison

From the Chicago Tribune: Five men charged in connection with a brawl between alleged white supremacists and anti-racists inside a Tinley Park restaurant pleaded guilty today and will serve sentences ranging from 3 ½ to 6 years in prison.
At a hearing on a motion to suppress evidence in the case Friday, brothers Dylan, Cody and Jason Sutherlin and co-defendants Alex Stuck and John S. Tucker all agreed to plea deals with prosecutors, pleading guilty to three of the 37 counts they were charged with.
“We were ready to go to trial,” said Brian Barrido, lawyer for Dylan Sutherlin. “I was very surprised when they said they wanted to take the plea … but I think they did the math, and if the trial didn’t start for a year or six months, they might be out just as soon” as they would under the plea deal.
The five men, all from the Bloomington, Ind., area, are members of the Hoosier Anti-Racist Movement, and had driven to Tinley Park May 19 to confront a group of alleged white supremacists who had planned to meet at the restaurant.
The Sutherlins have maintained they had planned to stage a “peaceful protest,” but security video shows as many as 18 men entering Ashford House, some wearing masks and carrying batons and other club-like objects. Within minutes, a melee broke out among the two groups, and several bystanders also were injured in the scuffle.

So, you have a bunch of anti-racist thugs who decide to physically fight supposed racists but were just having a meeting or breakfast or lunch or something.
A dollar to doughnuts, the anti-racist thugs were supporters of President Obama.

Stupidity Of Getting Federal Financing

From Firehouse: Atlantic City added 13 firefighters to its ranks Friday as part of a federal grant that runs out in about five months.
The city was awarded the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response, or SAFER, grant in February 2011. The grant allowed the Fire Department to bring back 28 laid-off firefighters and hire an additional 20 that November. Several promotions also were paid for with the $9.7 million grant.
"We are aggressively going after a SAFER retention grant," Deputy Chief Vincent Granese said Friday, as the 13 new recruits went through an informal welcome and orientation before starting training Monday. "We pick up another two years if we get that."
If the city does not get the retention grant, the new firefighhters could be out of a job in May. http://www.firehouse.com/news/10848913/nj-city-adds-13-firefighters-with-expiring-funds
And if the city doesn't get the grant, the city will be under pressure from the fire union to keep the firefighters, using the same old excuse, if you cut firefighters, people will die.
And then the local taxpayers will be on the hook for the firefighter salaries.
This is what Obama and federal government do with teachers, police officers and other government workers along with ObamaCare.  The Feds pay for the first two years or so and then the locals have to pay afterwards.
