From the Las Vegas Sun: One of the best teams in the nation could be headed to Las Vegas for the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas on Dec. 22.
Multiple media outlets, including the Salt Lake Tribune, are reporting that Boise State on Sunday will accept a bid to face Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl.
No. 11 Boise State (11-1) finished in a three-way tie at the top of the Western Athletic Conference standings with No. 17 UNR and Hawaii. The Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl has the first WAC selection and extended a bid to UNR Saturday evening.
After the Wolf Pack accepted, it opened the door for Boise State to wind up in Las Vegas. According to Boise media reports, including the Idaho Press-Tribune, Boise State was campaigning to wind up in Las Vegas after falling last week to UNR.

Utah and Boise state are both very, very good football teams. Both went undefeated last year and have only 3 losses combined this year.
While the game may look like a regional affair, it's not, as both teams are very, very good and if BSU wins, they may be ranked in the top 10 in the final polling. If Utah wins, they will be in the top 15 or better.
The game should get good ratings on TV and will be a sell out at Sam Boyd Stadium. This is great news for Las Vegas.
