Today, the family went the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop, home of Pawn stars. The address is 73 South Las Vegas Blvd. To say we were disappointed, is an understatement.
We have been going to the shop about every 6 months or so, for the past several years, even before they became famous. It seems strange, but they grew the shop to make it bigger, but they have fewer items in the shop.
It used to be, you can buy electronics, like a TV. Now you can't. You used to be able to buy CD's and video games. Now you can't. Their antique gun and other weapon collection is way down.
But they opened a huge section dedicated to, you guessed it, to the Pawn Stars. Lots and lots of memorabilia- t-shirts, mugs, post cards, hats, posters, and even water in addition to other souvenir stuff.
they still sell jewelry, had about 5 motorcycles, some stuff that no one will buy, some crystal, pictures, art work, coins and other odds and ends. This really is not your typical pawn shop any more. It is a high end thrift store. Great place to buy jewelry, not much of anything else.
If they didn't have the TV show, their business would be in serious trouble.
