Pawn Stars Review: September 3, 2012

Happy Labor Day for those of you living in the United States and elsewhere.  To everyone who works and supports those who works or have retired from work, at any kind of job, we appreciate all you do.
Today are two new episodes of Pawn Stars.
In the first episode, the first guy brought in a fork from the Hindenburg blimp (Zepplin).  http://www.airships.net/hindenburg
The guy wanted $10-12,000 and time for an expert.  Mark from the Clark County Museum came in to look at the fork and said the fork could have been used on other Zeppelins but was 80% sure it was from the Hindenburg.  Rick decided that he was not going to buy the fork because of the doubt.
The next had the guys go to a garage to look at a Packer Baker from 1958.  It was just the shell of a car- no upholstery, lights etc.  Rick wanted the car and The Old Man didn't want to touch it.  The guy wanted $10,000 and Rick offered $1500 and that was the selling price.
The next guy brought in an 1886 Winchester Rifle 45/90.  The gun was large caliber and was used to hunt big game.  The guy wanted $5000 and time for an expert.  Pawn stars have a game with Winchester Rifles on Facebook: http://www.pawnstarsthegame.com/1886-winchester-rifle-pawn-stars-item-appraisal.html
Craig was the expert they were calling but was not available but Rick got jealous and said he could evaluate the gun.  So, then Corey Skyped with Craig while Rick fumed.  Craig got the information about the rifle through words and pictures.  You also got to see the power of Skype, something I have not seen before.  Craig determined the gun was shortened and was worth up to $10,000 untouched but only about $3000-4500 with the barrel being shortened.  The guy wanted $4500 and The Old Man offered $2500 and then $3000.  The guy went down to $3500 and the  Old Man agreed and that was the selling price.

The next woman brought in a piggy bank of Ringo Starr from the Yellow Submarine album. The bank wasn't in great shape.  Corey offered $100 and the lady wanted $500 and then $400.  Corey went to $150 and then $200.  The guys are really giving in today.
At the end, they shot off the big rifle.  Chumlee shot first and missed a hay bale, Rick shot and shot over it several times and blamed the sights.  They then went to an AR 15 and blew up the hay bale.
In the end, The Old Man was Skyping with his friends and no mention of the car that was bought earlier in the show.

In the 2nd episode, the first guy brought in a police Indenti-Kit Model 2- a kit the cops use to make pictures using plastic overlays of different facial features of a person.  http://lawenforcementmuseum.blogspot.com/2010/07/five-cool-artifacts-in-collections-of.html  The guy and Chumlee did a picture of Rick and it kind of looked like Voldemort from Harry Potter before hey put the hair on picture.  The guy wanted $2000 and Rick offered $500 and then $600 and that was selling price.  The guy's niece paid $1 for it.
The next guy brought in Hall of Fame Bust molds of John McGraw and Joe DiMaggio.  They were small in size, about 3 inches tall.  The mold took in hot plastic in it and and made a plastic figurine to someone who wanted to buy it.  The guy wanted $2200.  Time for an expert.  Jeremy came in and said that the molds were from around 1963.  He looked at the molds and said molds were legitimate and worth about $2500.  The guy still wanted $2200 and Rick offered $1100 and the Old Man offered $1200 and Rick offered $1300 and that was the sale price.
The guys then talked about the Sturgis motorcycle rally but Chumlee was told he had to work and Chumlee's bike didn't work.  However, Chumlee's 30th birthday was coming up and his present was a motorcycle and gets to go on the trip.  The motorcycle was a Harley from 1985, pink on the gas tankblue flames on the seat.  http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US/Content/Pages/home.html  On a side note, my dad used to work for Harley in Milwaukee in the very early 1960's as a writer/editor of their company newspaper.
The guy selling the Harley wanted $10,500 and Corey wanted an expert and Danny showed up.  (Danny's getting pretty gray on the beard)  Danny took it on the road (which reminds me of the All state commercial where a guy test drive a motorcycle)  Danny said the motorcycle was worth about $7500.  Corey offered $5000 and they guy went down to $7800.  Corey went to $6500 and that was the sale price.

The last guy brought in a old Murray metal pedal car for kids.  The car was in  rough shape, rust and not much paint.  The guy wanted $325 and the Old Man offered $200 and then $250 and that was the selling price.
In the end, Chumlee was bumming about not going to Sturgis and that was the end of the show.
I am pretty sure that cameras went to Sturgis with Rick, Corey and Chumlee, so this story may continue.
I hope everyone had a nice summer, now that summer is unofficially over and have a nice week.  Thanks for stopping by.
