This Is Going to Be A Long Season For The Wisconsin Badgers

The boo birds were out in force, in the Wisconsin Badgers 3rd game of the season as the Badgers barely beat Utah State, 16-14.  The only reason why the Badgers won is that Utah State missed a short field at the end of the game.
The Badgers barely beat Northern Iowa in the first game of the season, got their butts kicked by Oregon State last week and then barely beat the Aggies at Camp Randall tonight.
From the Wisconsin State Journal:  After making the shocking move of firing offensive line coach Mike Markuson after only two games and replacing him with graduate assistant Bart Miller, University of Wisconsin football coach Bret Bielema had another dramatic move up his sleeve at halftime on Saturday night against Utah State.
After watching his team get booed off the field by the Camp Randall Stadium crowd following a miserable first half, Bielema benched junior transfer quarterback Danny O'Brien in favor of redshirt freshman Joel Stave, who was appearing in his first game.
But it wasn't the quarterback switch that sparked the Badgers as much as sophomore Kenzel Doe, whose return for a touchdown in the third quarter heped UW (2-1) survive a traumatic week and escape with a 16-14 victory over the Aggies (2-1).
"It's been a difficult week," Bielema said. "We try to make it as positive as we can. I just told the group, I knew it wasn't going to change overnight. It's some things we've got to get straight and get correct. We can't beat ourselves with pre-snap penalties or the holding calls."
The Badgers had a ragged first half that included four illegal motion penalties. The defense allowed two touchdowns, one on a wheel route on a 39-yard pass to running back Kerwynn Williams in the first quarter to give the Aggies a 7-0 lead.
In the past week, they got rid of their offensive line coach and now have benched their starting quarterback.  These are desperate times for the Badgers, even though they have had some great seasons for the past few seasons.  It may be time for a let down and let the program get it's act together.
But no matter what, it seems like it is going be be a long year for the Badgers.
