Pahrump is a moderate sized city about 45 miles from Las Vegas and you really have to wonder what the hell is going on there.
From the Pahrump Valley Times: Terry Timm has kept quiet long enough.
The 50-year-old Colorado mother of two says she feels guilty that she hasn’t told the world her secret sooner. Perhaps it could have saved any number of young girls from experiencing the horror she endured living under the roof of one Perry Allison Hood, the man who adopted her in the early 1980s, supposedly rescuing her from a life of sexual abuse at the hands of her biological father and grandfather.
Instead, she says, Hood, the smooth-talking family man and child psychologist, simply got away with taking her from one abusive home and placing her into another — his.
Timm contacted the Pahrump Valley Times on Wednesday after reading about her 69-year-old adopted father’s arrest in Tonopah last week on multiple child pornography charges. She says the allegations against Hood are the tip of the iceberg — he has been preying on young, troubled teenage girls for the better part of four decades, she says. http://pvtimes.com/news/hood-said-to-be-longtime-sex-predator/
And this: A second Nye County School District employee is reportedly in trouble with the law after she was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a residence for the use and sale of controlled substances Wednesday evening.
Verona Worthington, 31, a health aide at Pahrump Valley High School, was arrested on charges of conspiracy to violate the Uniform Controlled Substance Act, possession of methamphetamine, under the influence of a controlled substance meth , maintaining a residence where illegal drugs are used and sold, possession of drug paraphernalia and child endangerment. http://pvtimes.com/news/pvhs-aide-arrested-on-meth-charges/
And then a couple years ago, several school staff were arrested on child abuse charges when they supposedly abused some special kids.
What the hell is wrong with the Pahrump School District?
