From ESPN News: "A family spokesman says searchers have contacted a 16-year-old Southern California girl who was feared lost at sea and she is alive and well.
William Bennett said late Thursday night that searchers aboard an Airbus A330 spotted Abby Sunderland's boat in an upright position and made contact with her via radio.
Speaking outside the family's Thousand Oaks home, Bennett said Sunderland said she was inside the boat and doing fine with a space heater and at least two weeks worth of food.
Bennett said the mast had broken off the disabled boat." http://sports.espn.go.com/oly/news/story?id=5272149
A lot of nanny staters said this brave and very talented 16 year old sailor should never have attempted her journey around the world. Apparently, she is safe and sound and she is dealing with the situation.
She is far more mature than most 16 year old girls or boys and I am glad she is safe. If other news reports are correct, it was a Quantas Airlines airplane that found the girl.
Well, you have to be interesting.
