Dina (I've Never Had A Real Job In My Life) is lying again in her commercials.
You have a retired police officer, Randy Sutton and the husband of a police officer bitching about Joe Heck denying workman's compensation against an officer who might have been exposed to Ricen.
For background, Jane Ann Morrison writes about the case in question in the LVRJ: http://www.lvrj.com/news/couple--police-clash-over-ricin-incident-104929599.html
But the facts of the case is this:
1. No other person who was in contact in the room or with the suspect, including hotel employees who first came in contact with the suspect and his room have come down with symptoms of Ricin poisoning. This also includes ambulance workers who transported the suspect to the hospital.
2. Metro police also denied the officer's workman's comp case.
3. There was no Ricin found on any police officer's equipment or the hotel.
4. Metro said the officer involved never was exposed to Ricin.
5. The officer involved is still working for Metro.
So, once again, Dina Titus is caught lying to the voters of Nevada. How pathetic is she that she has to lie instead of running her record.
6. Joe Heck has no way to defend himself about these accusations because of privacy laws. the people in the video, including Titus can lie all they want but Joe Heck cannot defend himself because of privacy issues.
Besides, what did Titus want Heck to do, lie? If the police officer in question never displayed symptoms consistent with ricin poisoning, what was he supposed to do? Further, has Joe Heck always denied workman's comp. claims for Metro? Somehow, I don't think so.
Dina Titus and Randy Sutton, both of you are liars and should be ashamed of yourselves. And Dina Titus, I really hope you lose and then you are never allowed into a classroom again. You do not have the integrity to be a teacher or professor. You are not a moral person and you should not be ever allowed near any students, even if they are adults.
Update: I have found out that Metro is self insured, so while Titus claims that Heck was doing the bidding of insurance companies, the fact is that no insurance companies were involved.
Here is Dr. Heck's response to this slanderous commercial by Titus: "Desperate times call for desperate measures and this ad reeks of a Congresswoman who will stop at nothing to save her own job. With one week to go, we have literally watched Dina Titus curse, cheat, and lie to try and win an election. Time and again throughout this campaign, numerous independent sources have pointed out that Congresswoman Titus' ads have been filled with lies," said Mari Nakashima, spokeswoman for Dr. Joe Heck. "In politics, bottoming out can be difficult, but Congresswoman Titus hit a new low when she attacked Joe Heck's integrity as a medical professional and cowardly attacks Joe Heck on an a matter that he cannot talk about due to medical privacy laws (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act - HIPAA). It is shameful and embarrassing that our Congresswoman who clearly has a lack of tact and judgment is actually questioning Joe Heck's work ethic and honesty. Joe Heck is a man who currently serves as a Colonel in his 20th year in the U.S. Army reserves, has saved lives of soldiers in combat and citizens in the emergency departments of southern Nevada. Dina Titus's willingness to attack not only her opponent but the integrity of the men and women of the police force is shameful, arrogant, and inappropriate," continued Nakashima, "Dina Titus should be ashamed."
FACT: METRO is self-insured. METRO does not use any corporate insurance company. METRO pays their claims using taxpayer dollars.FACT: Joe Heck, as the contract Medical Director for METRO, renders his professional medical analysis and recommendation based on the information provided to him by the Department. FACT: The Department makes the final decision on claim acceptance or denial.
Unfortunately, I am not able to find a copy of the ad on the web but if I do, i will post it.
