Why Doctors Don't Want To Take Medicare Patients

A friend of mine showed me a doctor's bill from a Las Vegas area hospital. The bill was for 3 days in the hospital and just the hospital bill was $36,000. Thios doesn't even include any doctor bills. The amount Medicare paid the hospital was $3,600 and a $200 co-pay. The hospital had to write off about $33,000 or more likely, pass it on to other insurances or private pay patients.
But yet politicians of both parties in Washington D.C. want to cut the reimbursement rates to doctors and hospitals.
Shameful.
