The Fat Lady Is Warming Up For Shelly Berkley

From the LVRJ: U.S. Sen. Dean Heller has expanded his lead over Democratic challenger Rep. Shelley Berkley, according to a new poll that shows the Republican ahead 47 percent to 39 percent in the Senate race.
Heller might be benefiting from greater GOP enthusiasm after Mitt Romney's winning debate performance against President Barack Obama last week, according to the pollster for SurveyUSA, which conducted the poll for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and 8NewsNow.
Nevada voters also had a chance to see Heller and Berkley in their first debate in Reno two weeks ago, and they'll get an opportunity again tonight in Las Vegas during the second of three scheduled face-offs.
"The Romney tide is floating the down-ticket boats," pollster Jay Leve said. "So what we're seeing right now is a slight coattail effect for Heller's campaign. He may have picked up two or three points. And there's no coattail effect for Berkley. She's not benefiting from Obama's strength" among traditional Democrats.  http://www.lvrj.com/news/poll-shows-heller-s-lead-over-berkley-growing-173659841.html
I don't believe that Romney gave Heller a boost.  I think Berkley is coming across as a very bitter, unethical and unlikable person.  Heller's and his supporter's commercials have been devastating on Berkley and for some reason, she was barely mentioned at Obama's rally a couple weeks ago.
I can see the fat lady starting to warm up at the Smith Center to announce Berkley's epic failure to run for Senate while giving up a very safe House seat.

  1. My two cents? The zillion$ that Karl Rove pumped into negative advertising--along with Berkley's severe looks--are working against her. Because Heller is no prize.

Here's a weird fact for you though: Heller replaced the disgraced John Ensign, and yet was not tainted. Kind of like our horrible Republican Governor Jim Gibbons was reviled, and yet did not taint Republican Gov. Sandoval. In Presidential politics, a stink like that sticks. But I guess not in Nevada.
