Sounds like something my dog would do.
From the LVRJ:
South Carolina police have filed a report after a dog was caught stealing bones and dog treats from a Dollar General. Cato, a husky, is shown in surveillance footage to have entered a Clinton, S.C., Dollar General on two separate occasions, taking pig ears, beef bones and dog treats off the shelf before sneaking outside to bury his haul. The manager of the store told Fox Carolina that the store’s employees knew items had gone missing, but couldn’t figure out what was going on. “We didn’t know it happened because he just snuck in with the customers,” store manager Anastasia Polson told the TV station. The surveillance footage shows Cato approach the doors at 9:38 a.m. The automatic doors shut in his face and he is forced to wait until a customer approaches to enter the store. The dog exits the store after about a minute, then returns and enters again, this time for about three minutes. He leaves again, presumably to cover his tracks. “(He was) taking them out to the car wash over here back behind the grass, digging holes and burying them,” Polson told WTVR. Cato’s owner, Holly Darden, told WEAR the dog has a habit of sneaking away. “Yes, I don’t know about the stealing,” she said. “But he’s gotten into Ingles. He’s gotten into Bi-Lo. He goes to Pizza Hut. And he goes up to Yo Cup, which is downtown too.” Cato spent some time in the pound before being picked up by Darden, and police filed a report “just for fun.” http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/shoplifting-dog-steals-treats-caught-burying-evidence
