Entertaining People Is Dangerous

An extra in the new movie, Transformers 3 was seriously injured while shooting the film in Hammond, IN.

From CBS2 Chicago: "The woman, Gabriela V. Cedillo, 24, of Chicago was injured Wednesday night, according to an Indiana State Police release.Gabriela Cedillo's mother and brother spoke to CBS 2's Suzanne Le Mignot off camera. They said Cedillo got out of surgery Thursday afternoon, after doctors had been operating on her head. Her mother says she is in stable condition, following that surgery....

Indiana State Police say Cedillo was driving her own car during the filming of a stunt. She was among many other drivers in the scene. A metal object hit Cedillo's car, then flew through her windshield, hitting her in the head. Cedillo's 2006 Toyota then sped away, hitting an inner median concrete barrier wall. The 24-year-old's car traveled for about a mile, before stopping. The vehicle had extensive damage to the driver's side.Police say Cedillo was airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, with a serious head injury."

Whether it is movies or live entertainment, like that in La Vegas, there are no guarantees something bad will not happen.

Roy Horn of Siegfried and Roy was seriously injured by a white tiger that attacked him during a show.

Las week, a lion trainer was bit by a lion at the MGM. http://www.fox5vegas.com/entertainment/24865307/detail.html

Zumanity, which is at New York-New York had two performers injured in a fall during a show and other injuries have happened at other Cirque shows: http://www.lvrj.com/news/11339291.html

There is even a law firm advertising to represent people who have been hurt while at a show as an audience member. http://www.bensonbingham.com/lasvegasattorney/show-casino-peformance-injury.html

So, when you go to a show, appreciate what the performers are doing and it can be dangerous. For the performer and apparently, the audience member.
