Kathleen Falk today resigned as the County Executive of Dane County WI. (Madison) She said she one reason is that she accomplished her goals. From the Wisconsin State Journal: She'll turn 60 in June, Falk said in an interview after the media event. "I have fulfilled the promises I made two years ago," she said. "I got 'em done. Now is the right time to go and find the next chapter of my life."
The two goals were installation of the first-ever-in-the-country manure digester and the launch of the citizens' alcohol coalition, she said (emphasis mine)

Well, shoot, if your goal as a politician is to get a manure (poop) digester installed, then yes, it is time for you to go. After all, if there isn't crime, budget problems, poverty or other problems facing Dane County, then I guess getting a manure digester would be the top of most any politicians list of things to do. Mission accomplished!
