See Harry Reid's Home: Washington D.C.'s Ritz-Carlton

Harry Reid lives in the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Washington D.C. While Harry probably gets a discounted rate, the cost per night at the Ritz starts at $649 and can go up to $819 or more a night in addition to taxes and fees. Assuming Harry pays $3000 a week ($428 a night), and that is probably very low, Harry pays more for his hotel room than he brings home from his Congressional paycheck. When Sharron angle asks how he made his money, she has a legitimate argument. How does he afford these riches on a Senator's salary?

A review of the Hotel:
Doormen greet you effusively when you arrive, and poised young women in the bar swan around, gracefully serving you your cocktail. The Ritz staff is always looking after you.
Some guest rooms overlook the hotel's peaceful landscaped courtyard; rooms on the outside perimeter view the West End's cityscape. Deluxe rooms are spacious (standard guest rooms average 450 square feet) and richly furnished with decorative inlaid wooden furniture, a comfy armchair and ottoman, and pretty artwork. Large marble bathrooms offer ample counter space, separate bathtub and shower stall, and the toilet in its own room behind a louvered door. The clock radio doubles as a CD player, and the phone features a button for summoning the "technology butler" (a complimentary, 24/7 service for guests with computer questions). For a $15 fee, guests may use the two-level, 100,000-square-foot Sports Club/LA, the best hotel health club in the city. The hotel's Westend Bistro by Eric Ripert is one of the hottest restaurants in town. Read more:

So, Harry Reid doesn't live like most Nevadans. He is out of touch with most Nevadans with they he lives. Most Nevadans do not get a 3 SUV escort that go through red lights while traveling around the Valley. I'm glad he is helping the economy of Washington D.C. living at the Ritz-Carlton, but please, don't say that he understands what most Nevadans are going through. He has no clue.

  1. It's not a per-night deal. He owns a condo at the Ritz. Love how some people twist the facts to support their views.

    1. Hey a$$ ho the mere fact he is in the Ritz is a life style most Nevadians are not accustomed too especially with the high unemployment of his state.

    3. There are still service fees associated with having a condo there which are higher then most high rental units around

    4. Senator Reid bought a 3/4 of a million dollar condo at the Ritz-Carlton. Wonder where he got that chunk of change in the middle of "The worst recession since the Great Depression"? Harry Reid is the absolute dictator of the Senate. He refuses to allow most Republican bills and many Democratic bills to reach the floor for debate. Senator Reid and others are prime examples of why we need term limits in America. Eighteen years, three Senate terms and nine House terms. After that go home or become a D.C. lobbyist. Then we can have true representative government as the Founding Fathers envisioned.

  2. Even if he owns a condo at The Ritz, he still has to pay monthly fees. And living at the Ritz is not exactly like living in Las Vegas, Reno or Searchlight, with a few exceptions.
And if he owns, that kind of tells me he is going to stay there after he leaves congress.

  4. This is stupid. Politicians are supposed to seek out housing that replicated their home states? Dude, seriously, find a real argument. ANYTHING substantive besides blind hated for Harry Reid. Do you even understand the amount of pork the MAJORITY LEADER OF THE US SENATE brings to your state? You'll trade that for some crazy, right-wing extremist who would cut government itself if she could? GET REAL. You'll regret what you get if Sharon "I was voted the worst law maker!" Angle in November.

  5. If you bothered to read the blog, I have many, many reasons why I am going to vote against Reid-Obama Care, huge deficits, failed stimulus, Yucca and the killing of thousands of jobs, killing the coal fire power plant in Elko (or Ely), bashing business, not reauthorizing Bush's tax cuts and the lsit can go on and on and on.
With this post, I am just saying, Harry is no longer a man of the people of Nevada. He thinks is all powerful. He is no longer that poor kid in Searchlight- he is a ruling elite limosuine liberal.

Ummm...What PORK? We get jack when he is buying votes to pass certain bills!

  7. Of course Dirty Harry doesn't have to bribe other states' senators to get their vote to rubber stamp the Obama agenda. Reid and Pelosi already ramrod the liberal/socialist programs through with impunity. Wake up people! Dump Reid(Rory, too) and Pelosi in 2010. In 2012 we can then dump Obama, too.

  8. Harry says he is there for you: Takes your money; launders it; does not do a budget

Harry says he is there for Las Vegas; he is not he is not living there and unemployment is sky high.

Harry is a liar when it comes to taxes- any tax Harry loves; but Harry has never paid taxes in his life (not sure if he has or not but someone said....) and that is good enough. (Note: Look at Harry's bashing people who have paid taxes for yaers.)

  9. If he owns a condo that he resides at more than 90 days a year, he doesn't live in Nevada and is not eligible to be a senator of that state. Just an opinion.

  10. What a crook - Consider Paul Ryan's "home in DC" He sleeps on a cot in his office.

Thanks Harry - You exemplify what Americans deplore about politicians.

    1. Your hatred and other psychos who must invent reasons for their hate are the ones dividing the country. Better a destroyed America than a successful one with a BLACK president.

Right... Ryan occasionally naps on a cot in his office, and so you conclude that that's his office in DC. I mean, really... The guy is rich through both inheritance and marriage. He's often at his wife's family's big ranch in Oklahoma. He lives in a rich neighborhood. Do you really think he lives in his office when in DC? I couldn't find information about his actual home in DC, but I found plenty of references to him driving and/or being driven home from Congress.
