It's Going To Be A 1:1 In Special House Election

The Nevada Supreme's have spoken and the Congressional District 2 is going to be a 1:1 election, featuring RINO Mark Amodei and State Treasurer, Kate Marshall.
From the Las Vegas Sun: One Republican and one Democrat will vie in the September special election to replace U.S. Rep. Dean Heller, under a ruling today by the Nevada Supreme Court that rejected Secretary of State Ross Miller’s open ballot rules.
In a 6-1 decision, the court agreed the state law governing the special election for the U.S. House is ambiguous. But the court decided that if the 2003 Legislature had intended the special election be a free-for-all, it would have explicitly said so when it originally wrote the law.
In the absence of a strong legislative record, the court deferred to past practice and other state statutes that allow political parties to nominate their candidates. The court also cited the fact the secretary of state’s office never wrote the required regulations for conducting a special election.
“While this court might typically defer to a secretary of state’s interpretation of an ambiguous election statute, when the secretary of state fails to … adopt regulations… such a deference is inappropriate,” the court found.

Since I don't live in CD 2, which encompasses all of Nevada except most of the Las Vegas Valley, I can't vote in the election. But I am disappointed in the ruling because don't I like Amodei and I like Marshall.
Amodei is getting the nomination because he was the GOP chairman, but he would never would have won the GOP primary. He is a RINO but most likely will win as most of the district is conservative- Sharron Angle conservative.
Marshall is a good Democrat who is fair and competent, but she is getting screwed by the Democrats. She could have beaten Dean Heller in the upcoming Senate race, but because U.S. Rep. Shelly Berkley, wants the seat, the Dem's are going to suck up to her.
Marshall is then going to have to wait until 2016 and hope that Harry Reid retires. With an almost state wide loss under her belt, she probably won't have much of a chance. Too bad for Marshall.
So, unless Amodei screws up big time, he will win and be our next U.S. House Rep.
