From The LVRJ: For many people, the dawn of a new year can mean a fresh start, a clean slate. For the politicians running to represent Nevada in the U.S. Senate, the view close to the new year is a nearly level battlefield judging from the latest measure of public sentiment.
Republican Sen. Dean Heller and Democratic Rep. Shelley Berkley are all but tied in their bid for the federal office. Berkley holds a 44.4 percent to 43.2 percent lead in the poll of registered voters conducted for the Las Vegas Review-Journal and 8NewsNow.
The survey confirms the Nevada race will be among the closest -- and among the hardest fought -- contests in a year in which Republicans are making a bid to grab Senate control. http://www.lvrj.com/news/poll-berkley-holds-slim-lead-over-heller-for-senate-seat-136131218.html
Maybe if Dean Heller actually stood up for conservative principals, maybe he would be in better position. But instead, he is acting like a RINO ad he is not making the case that he is any different than Berkley.
The latest example is the tax cut in which the conservative GOP House members wanted a 1 year extension but Heller threw the House GOP members under the bus but saying that the House GOP should cave into the Senate 2 month tax cut.
Further, Heller has not signed onto the petition going through Congress in demanding Eric Holder's resignation or firing.
How do these two issues make him any different than Shelly Berkley?
And sucking up to Harry Reid is not going help Heller at all, but Heller thinks that if he plays nice with Crybaby Harry Reid, Reid will be quiet during the election and Heller would be wrong. Crybaby Reid is going to throw Heller under the bus come November 2012 and pull out the sleaze Reid is known for and attack Heller and resort to the same dirty tricks that got Reid elected in 2010.
So, maybe now Heller will finally wake up, grow some b-lls and become a conservative instead of a RINO, otherwise, he will find himself unemployed.
