How Sad

From the Jsonline: "Ask him how he's doing these days and Willie Wood will tell you he feels pretty good. But the 1960s-era Green Bay Packers safety goes silent when asked why he has traveled from his assisted living facility in downtown Washington to a packed congressional hearing room on Capitol Hill on Wednesday.
Wood, a Pro Football Hall of Famer who has dementia, is among a number of retired football players who have developed serious memory problems after leaving the NFL
."
As a boy growing up, I was a fan of Willie Wood and the rest of the Packers. It is sad to say that the Packers have lost a a lot of players to death (Ray Nitschke, Henry Jordan) and dementia (Willie Wood and who knows who else)
Now, Willie lives in an assisted living facility, probably for the rest of his life.
How sad that once a great human specimen has been lowered to this.
