The LasVegas Sun, the Las Vegas newspaper (?) who reguritate the far left's talking points and drink the far left's Kool Aide so much, they turn red from all the food coloring, put out another propaganda piece for Harry Reid, (Dumbass- NV).
"Nevada was once a conservative state, and that’s when the Daschle analogy would have made sense. But Cillizza glosses over the single most significant fact of Nevada’s recent political history: Obama’s crushing 12.5-percentage-point victory here last year.
Cillizza: “While Obama carried the state by 12 points in 2008, George W. Bush won it — albeit narrowly — in 2004 and, aside from Clark County (Las Vegas), the state is populated with conservative-minded voters who are more likely to disagree than agree with the direction that Obama (and Congressional Democrats) are taking the country.”
The key phrase here is “aside from Clark County.” Well, that’s 70 percent of the state’s population. And most of the state’s Democrats.
It’s like saying Utah is secular, aside from the Mormons."
Notice the last 2 sentences are part of a news article but it shows the writer's biases. But this is how the writers write for the Sun, which by the way, can't even distribute their own newspaper. They rely on the Las Vegas Review-Journal to do the hard work. Typical- liberals depending on conservatives to do the dirty work.
Anyways, yes, Obama won the State. If this is what the liberals hope for, go ahead. There was more hatred for John McCain than love for Obama. It should also be noted that Obama lost the Nevada Democrat caucus to Hillary Clinton, so the support of Obama was not that great in the primary.
If this political observe also noticed is that Nevada loves to throw the bums out. During the last election, many politicians were thrown out, mostly from the GOP. I suspect this will be the same for Democrats in the next election.
The Sun drolls on: So is Reid a shoo-in next year?
That’s what Markos Moulitsas thinks. Moulitsas is the proprietor of the big liberal blog Daily Kos, and though he’s obviously a partisan, he’s also known for his hard-boiled political analysis.
In a post titled “Why Harry Reid will Survive. Easily,” he links to recent reporting by the Sun’s David McGrath Schwartz showing the Democrats’ registration edge and the Republicans’ lackluster effort so far — their monthly additions trail minor parties such as the hard-right
Independent American Party.
So, the writer of this article quotes Markos Moulitsas of the far left wing web site, The daily Kos. Oh, that's sweet and intellectually dishonest. I guess the equivalent is asking Rush Limbaugh the chances of Harry Reid winning in Nevada. It's irrelevant.
Registration in Nevada is for the primaries and caucuses. The Democrats had a great primary and so many people registered as Democrats. That doesn't mean that is how they voted the general election.
Reid also has the Left pissed at him. http://www.lasvegasgleaner.com/las_vegas_gleaner/
While I disagree with the Gleaner's positions, they are honest about the views of the Left. They don't pull punches, whether they post about the right or left, unlike the Sun and their writers.
Unless the economy improves in Nevada and the experts are saying that is not likely for at least another 2 years or longer, Reid has little chance. With Nevada's unemployment rate over 13% and probably will be over 10% for years, this is just a walking advertisement against Reid.
Reid has killed more jobs than he has brought in. He is proposing higher taxes through the health care reform bill, Cap and Trade and other bills.
He also has the problem that his son is going to be on the same ballot as Harry. Most voters do not like family dynasties.
Can Reid win? Sure. First, he will need all the help from ACORN and other community organizations and unions. The union can be a problem, as unions are losing workers and members left and right. Who are the people mostly being laid off in Nevada? Union workers. And ACORN is facing a criminal trial in the near future for registration fraud.
He will need Obama to stump for him on numerous occasions, but Obama is not that well liked in the state. His comment about not coming to Vegas to do business still hurts him and Obama is not that popular, except in the Black community. And remember, that Obama is less popular in the State than Hilary Clinton.
Finally: "For all his mastery of the backroom deals that keep the upper chamber humming, Reid’s public persona is, as the Sun described it once, “aggressively uncharismatic.”
That’s not likely to change."
Actually, I do like Harry Reid, the person. Yes, he suffers from foot in mouth disease, at times, but I think he generally a nice person, unlike our other senator, John Ensign, who is a boorish pig. I just don't like his politics and what he is doing to this country and Nevada.
So, Harry is in big trouble but as we see in this article, the Las Vegas Sun will do anything to get him re-elected. The Sun will be dishonest, quote people who are highly partisan and treat it as a legitimate news story.
