From the LVRJ: Two Metropolitan Police Department officers are on paid leave and under internal investigation after being pulled over for speeding last month in a marked patrol car in Arizona while they were supposed to be on duty in Las Vegas.
Assistant Sheriff Ray Flynn confirmed Monday that officers Brad Gallup and Jake Grunwald have been relieved of their regular duties while the investigation is ongoing.
Police spokesman Sgt. John Sheahan said the officers work in the Enterprise Area Command. The investigation began Jan. 19, the day of the traffic stop.
Well, what that's about 100 miles out of your area. Kind of making it difficult to stop speeders or respond to calls when you are 3 hours out of your area. And doesn't Metro have tracking devices on their squad cars?
But the strangest part of the story is this: The investigation will be completed within 90 days, Flynn said. http://www.lvrj.com/news/inquiry-under-way-for-lv-officers-stopped-in-arizona-114997494.html
90 days to complete the investigation? Is this guy conducting the investigation?
