As it has been widely reported, Christina Aguilera totally screwed up the National Anthem when she sang at the Super Bowl. Not only did she mess up the words, she acted like she was trying to eat a walrus in a single bite, they way she was moving around on stage.
She has been critized from coast to coast and she basically dismissed the critism: Christina Aguilera rushed to defend herself after messing up a line while performing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The pop singer said she got lost in the moment -- and lost her place in the song.
Christina Aguilera Fumbles National Anthem Lyrics at Super Bowl
"I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through," she told the Associated Press in a statement

She also complained she was singing a capella and there millions of people listening to her.
It's easy to make fun of a person when they are down, but I will say this: She had plenty of time to rehearse and this was her job and she messed it up. Ok, things happen, and Aguilera did it in front of 111,000,000 people.
Now, I take you to another singer. This singer has some mild to moderate cognitive disabilities and goes to the school I teach at. On Friday, in front of almost the entire school and at an assembly, She sang the National Anthem. She sang it without the benefit of a band and she also had TV cameras pointing at her. She sang the song beautifully, didn't mess it up and she sang the National Anthem much better than Christina Aguilera. The girl, with the cognitive disabilities, got a standing ovation after singing and there were some tears in some of her teacher's eyes.
So, you have Christina Aguilera who is a prima donna who screwed up the Anthem because she didn't practice and tried to make the song about her. On the other hand, you had a girl with disabilities who sang the song so much better, both musically and in style and she had much more pressure on her.
Who do you think I feel more proud of?
