Update On The Parhump Fire Tragedy

The Pahrump Valley Time provides more details on the fire in Pahrump that killed four, 3 children and a family friend.
From the PVT: One of the worst structure fires in recent memory killed three young boys and a female family friend Wednesday morning.
Nye County dispatch received a 911 call at 9:36 a.m. reporting that a home at 3421 Prospector Lane was on fire. The residence was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived on scene.
Neighbors alerted fire crews that the home was occupied by several children and attempted to rescue the victims.
Family members say Elliot Broadhead, 18 months old, 4-year-old Zachary Broadhead and 5-year-old Brandon Broadhead, a kindergartener at Mt. Charleston Elementary School, perished in the blaze. Crystal Smiley, 24, a friend of the boys’ mother, also died...

Smiley was visiting the children and their mother at the time the fire broke out. She was friends with Sharon Broadhead, the boys’ mother. The two had known each other about a year and were once co-workers at an area casino. Smiley spent the night at the home, sharing a movie night with the family.
Smiley died from apparent smoke inhalation while on the phone with a dispatcher. The mother of the young victims was outside of the home when emergency workers arrived. She indicated that she fled the house after it caught fire.
Thick black smoke could be seen throughout the valley as firefighters worked to battle intense flames.
Chief Scott Lewis of the Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Service said the heavy smoke and fire conditions hampered rescue efforts as did the structural integrity of the manufactured home.

What a horrible tragedy and the pain and guilt the family of the kids are living with now. Our prayers must be with the family, friends of the family along with the firefighters, deputies and dispatchers.
There is no mention of donations at this time for the family.
