WI. Dem Sen's In WI Are The Most Shameful 14 People In The State Of Wisconsin

Scott Fitzgerald has it exactly right when he says the 14 most shameful people in Wisconsin are the 14 Democratic senators who ran away like cowards to Illinois instead of fighting for what the believed in.
from jsonline: "To the Senate Democrats: when you smile for the cameras today and pretend you're heroes, I hope you look at that beautiful Capitol building you insulted. And I hope you're embarrassed to call yourselves senators."
Here is Fitzgerlad's entire statement:
"Today, the most shameful 14 people in the state of Wisconsin are going to pat themselves on the back and smile for the cameras. They're going to pretend they're heroes for taking a three week vacation.
"It is an absolute insult to the hundreds of thousands of Wisconsinites who are struggling to find a job, much less one they can run away from and go down to Illinois -- with pay.
"Their appearance at the Capitol today is in direct violation of the contempt order issued by the state Senate earlier this month, and it proves their absolute disregard for the institution of the Senate and the constitution they took an oath of office to serve.
"But the people of Wisconsin won't forget what they were really doing these past few weeks.
"Sen. Tim Cullen refused to come back to save 1,500 jobs.
"Sen. Mark Miller refused to come back even to make sure his own staff were safe in the Capitol he abandoned.
"Sen. Fred Risser refused to come back out of respect for the institution and dignity of the state Senate.
"Sen. Bob Jauch refused to come back even though our side was negotiating in good faith to try to find a reasonable compromise.
"Sens. Jon Erpenbach, Chris Larson and Lena Taylor were all too happy to pat themselves on the back and smile for the cameras in Illinois, never mind their constituents here in Wisconsin.
"And Sens. Dave Hansen, Kathleen Vinehout, Tim Carpenter, Spencer Coggs, Jim Holperin, and Julie Lassa refused to come back to actually do the job they were elected to do.
"To the Senate Democrats: When you smile for the cameras today and pretend you're heroes, I hope you look at that beautiful Capitol building you insulted. And I hope you're embarrassed to call yourselves senators."

This statement is 100% accurate. Why are the Democrats being treated like heroes? The Democrats are more like a French Army- defeated.
The Democrats are not heroes and in a short time, most of the people in Wisconsin will realize how cowardly the Democrats were. they didn't try and fight for what they believe in. they didn't try and defend their positions.
Te Democrats are an embarrassment to "Fighting Bob" La Follette, a Democratic icon in Wisconsin.
The WI. State Senators are not heroes but cowards who threw their constituents under the bus.

  1. I don't get it, you said: "the 14 most shameful people in Wisconsin are the 14 Democratic senators who ran away like cowards to Illinois instead of fighting for what the believed in."

But the ONLY way they COULD fight for what they believed in was to deny the state senate a quorum. If they'd showed up, they'd have instantly lost. Instead, they drew national attention, and would have won had the Republicans not pulled a rabbit out of their. . .hat.

While they were out of state, they pleaded their case on every outlet who would have them. If they hadn't left the state, most of us would have no idea any of this happened.

I've never been a union member, and never thought I'd be on their side. But the Republicans, particularly the Governor of Wisconsin (and many other newbie GOP governors) came off like asses. And MEAN asses at that.

If it were ever true that this was ONLY about the budget, and this were the ONLY way to fix the budget, that would be one thing. But this was about squashing unions, and pumping up Walker's national political GOP/Tea Party cred. About being some sort of Republican badass hero. He may be that. But he turned public opinion against himself, and many of the other Republicans too.

  2. See, Jamie, I disagree with you. I am sure they would have been out front of the cameras in Wisconsin if they did not leave and they would have had more creditability.
I don't think he turned too many people against him and he probably won more support than he lost.
But you also have to admit that government unions- see the CCFD- have been raping the taxpayers all these years and it is time to reign som of the union power.
