More Rain And Damage In Las Vegas

Another day of rain and wind in Las Vegas has caused a roof to be blown off an apartment building near Rancho and Vegas Dr.
From the LVRJ: Wind gusts blew the roof off an apartment building on Vegas Drive near Rancho Drive Sunday afternoon, injuring a child, Las Vegas Fire Department officials said.
Fire officials also were receiving multiple reports of power outages in the area.
The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a flood advisory for central Clark County through 4:15 p.m. Sunday.
Rain is falling in places at the rate of a one-half inch an hour and showers are expected "for pretty much the entire Las Vegas Valley," said Brian Fuis, a spokesman for the service.
"It's patchy," he said. "It could be dumping in your neighbor's backyard while you're getting nothing but a sprinkle."

Yesterday, rain brought down a roof on the east side the of the Valley. Another man had to be rescued from a wash/flood channel because he thought it would e a good place to get out of the rain.
This weather seems mighty strange for Las Vegas at this time of the year. Normally, we see hot, dry weather, with highs in the 110's. Usually, if we do see rain in July, it is spotty and not much rain. This weather seems more appropriate for Arizona, at this time of year.
Las Vegas gets about 300 days a year of sunshine and may 15 days of rain, so I feel sorry for the tourists who are coming to Vegas this past week. Expect nice weather and get rain, humidity and clouds.
