I think jobs are important. But that oil sands pipeline goes through a HUGE percentage of America's drinking waters. Plus, according to some scientists, if all of that fuel is extracted and burned, it would be ruinous to the (useable by humans) earth. If the same amount of money and effort were spent on renewable energy, what could be accomplished?
I'm all for jobs. But not at the expense of. . .the viability of humans on the planet. Should we really be squeezing every drop of petrol out of the planet when there are other options?
