Now cooking shows are getting into shock TV when they show the killing/slaughter of animals that are used in their shows.
On Gordon Ramsey's The F Show, they showed the killing of a baby calf at a slaughter house. They showed the cow getting zapped and then the draining of the blood and carving of the body.
On Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations, they showed Bourdain killing a pig with a head shot and then skinning and carving up the pig and then played with the pig's head.
Why? Shock value? There isn't any real educational or entertainment value, so they must do it for the shock value.
The decay of TV continues.
