So, Why Wasn't This Reported Earlier?

Until today, I didn't know that there was a GOP state senator running for Congress in the CD4 district.
On November 10, State Sen. Barbara Cegavske announced that she was going to run for Congress.
Today, November 23, 2011, the Pahrump Valley Times finally got around to announce the campaign run. Almost 2 weeks passed and the PVA finally decides to run the story?
From the PVT: The Republicans have a well-known candidate now in the race for the new Congressional District 4 seat: State Sen. Barbara Cegavske, from Las Vegas, the assistant Senate minority leader.
Two Democrats from North Las Vegas announced they would run for the position: State Sen. Steven Horsford and State Sen. John Lee. Democrats hold a 45.8 percent to 33.2 percent advantage among registered voters in the district.
Lee’s campaign announced Monday he was pulling out of the race, in a prepared statement Lee said Horsford was a great candidate and the Democrats were focused on getting U.S. Rep. Shelly Berkeley elected to the Senate, Democrats elected to Congress and keeping their majority in the state Legislature.
The fourth congressional district includes all of Nye, Esmeralda, Lincoln, Mineral and White Pine counties along with a part of Clark County north of Lake Mead Boulevard in Las Vegas and southern Lyon County.
Nye and Esmeralda counties have been in congressional district 2 since it was created, which included areas in the state outside of Las Vegas and has always been represented by a Republican. A fourth congressional district was created after the 2010 census.

Of course, this is probably better than what the Las Vegas Sun did- they hid this story on their web site. This story was written by Annjeanette Damon and that has been the only time the Sun has assigned a staff writer to write about her.
So, maybe the media is trying to hide the fact that State Sen. Barbara Cegavske is running. Maybe they realize that her opponent, Stephen Horsford of Las Vegas is full of scandals- parking in handicapped places when not handicapped, lying about his lack of a college degree and doing a piss poor job running the Senate. Even the liberals don't like Horsford because they believed that he sucked up to the GOP and Gov. Brian Sandoval. When the liberals demanded higher taxes and he wanted to raise taxes, but he couldn't find the votes.
So, what took so long for the PVT to run the article? Why did the PVT wait almost 2 weeks before they printed her announcement? Maybe the PVT has just a wee bit of bias?
