Did Bachman And Paul Really Expect CBS To be Fair?

Michelle Bachman and Ron Paul are complaining about their treatment from CBS news during the last GOP presidential debate.
Seriously, Did Bachman, Paul or any other GOP candidate expect to be treated fairly by CBS? If so, where have they been for the past, say 20-30 years? CBS is a biased news organization, dating back to least the Dan Rather era, if not before then and they will continue to be biased. Conservatives have known that and if these GOP candidates didn't know CBS is biased, then they will be in for a rude awakening.
From Politiker NY: Minnesota Congresswoman’s Michele Bachmann’s campaign staff went ballistic after one of her communications director, Alice Stewart, was mistakenly CC’d on an internal CBS News email. In the message, newly minted political director John Dickerson said he’d rather interview someone else on his post-debate webshow. Congresswoman Bachmann’s staffers responded by accusing CBS of bias and calling for Mr. Dickerson’s head.
In the email, which was sent hours prior to the debate, CBS News
senior politics producer Caroline Horn told Mr. Dickerson she could arrange to have Ms. Bachmann on his show.
“I was just speaking with Alice Stewart, cc’d here, about the Congresswoman or a senior member of her staff joining you for the webshow,” Ms. Horn wrote.
“Okay let’s keep it loose since she’s not going to get many questions and she’s nearly off the charts in the hopes that we can get someone else,” Mr. Dickerson responded. 1. Lower-rung candidates always get short-shrift. What's the difference here?
