Oh Crap, NASCAR Is On TNT

Well, today is the day most NASCAR TV watchers dread, the broadcast is now on TNT.
Here is an example of how horrible TNT has been:
The Pocono 500 just ended and I wish the alleged TV channel, TNT would stop broadcasting. Their coverage of the last 3 laps of the race was horrible, even worse than an amateur could do. It's the worse I have ever seen.

Another NASCAR race and another very poor performance by TNT.
Apparently, TNT doesn't realize that there is a points race going on. Jimie Johnson spun, went two laps down. And oh by the way, he was second in points. Nothing mentioned about that. No mention about points the entire race. Apparently the dork announcers didn't think it was that important.
In the middle of the race, Dale Earnahrdt Jr., the most popular driver in NASCAR, had a poor pit stop and lost about 10 positions. Why did it happen? We'll never know because TNT never told us
.

Today was the last broadcast of NASCAR on TNT and as usual, the hit the bottom of broadcasting excellence.
The mayhem started when the green flag at the beginning of the race and instead of seeing the cars take off and take the green flag, TNT treated us the back of people's heads at the back of the grandstand.
Their pit coverage was pathetic. It was comical when Kyle Busch blasted the interviewer for asking if Dale Jr. was responsible for Busch blowing a tire.

And today's broadcast is already off to a bad start when they didn't identify the fly by planes.  Each service and those who serve and served- Marine, Army, Air force and Navy are proud when their service is picked to fly over and the personnel at the squadron are especially proud that their planes are seen on national TV.
So, maybe they can do just a minimally good job until the races get broadcast on ESPN.

Update: Caution 2, the announcers totally blew.  We heard from the spotter on the broadcast about the 3 car wreck and the announcers had no clue about the caution for about 30 seconds after it happened and then didn't realize it was a 3 car wreck for some time after, when they saw the replay.  So far, TNT has missed the first 2 cautions live, we only saw what happened because of the replays.  TNT has to have a horrible director.
And could anyone understand the announcers when the cars came off of pit road?  If you do, then you understand gibberish.

Update: There are a lot of speeding penalties going for the entire race.  When this happened with Fox, they had a reporter in the NASCAR booth showing what was going on.  Why hasn't TNT done that or talked to a NASCAR official about the problem?  Is it the driver, is it the lights?  If it is the lights, then NASCAR will have a hell of a problem with unfairly penalizing drivers.  Isn't that a story?  Maybe NASCAR has the judges from the Las Vegas Bradley-Pacquiao operating the timing lights?
Update: Huh?  They just said Kenseth is the points leader based on the race now.  No, Biffle is still leading.but  they are assuming  that Kenseth will win, which he hasn't done yet.  Now, as a Kenseth fan, I hope they are right, but they are wrong now.

  1. Maybe it's just me, but the background versus the announcer volume is out of balance. The background noise overpowers the announcers and you can't hear what they are saying. Bring back FOX!!!
