I'm sorry, but the vast majority of these majors and advanced degree areas do not produce jobs except maybe in other universities. They don't correlate to real jobs in the private sector. Yes, you may have a greater understanding of the world but that doesn't put food on the table, pay bills or pay taxes.
Nevada is having a huge budget crisis and yet the higher education department says it needs more and more money. No, these programs are luxuries and in time of huge budget difficulties, we cannot afford luxuries.
