UNLV Starts The Process To Build A New Stadium

From the Las Vegas Sun: The Nevada Board of Regents on Friday approved a 150-day agreement to negotiate with Majestic Realty Co. to build a 40,000-seat domed stadium on the UNLV campus.
If built, the facility could house UNLV football on campus and the Runnin’ Rebel basketball team would get a new home. The stadium also could house the National Finals Rodeo in December.
Following an hour-long presentation by Majestic and a parade of mostly favorable comments of support, regents voted 11-1 with one abstention to approve the exclusive agreement with the company that worked to build Los Angeles’ Staples Center and its nearby L.A. Live commercial district.
The 150-day agreement will enable Majestic and UNLV to develop details of a 150-acre mixed-use project that includes building the domed stadium and a university village with retail outlets and dormitory housing.

Already, State money is going into the is project. State employees, mainly UNLV employees are going to be working on this project, therefore State money is already being used. (if these UNLV employees have so much time to work on this project, doesn't that mean they have way to much time on their hands now- so much for being short of money)
This is how this project will work out:
1. In 150 days, a report will come out stating that the stadium/arena can be built without taxpayer money.
2. UNLV and the State Regents will ok the stadium.
3. The construction of the stadium will begin.
4. The project will run out of money.
5. The regents will come crawling to taxpayers to bail out the project because the stadium is almost done and it will be a shame if the construction is halted.
6. The State will give in and provide the necessary funding.
7. The Stadium will need yearly cash infusions to keep it a float.
8. The taxpayers will continue to bail out the stadium until UNLV wants to build another stadium.
This scenario happens throughout the country, every year and this will happen at UNLV. Majestic Realty isn't doing this project because of goodwill- they firmly believe that the stadium will be built and they have the backing of the Regents.
This is how government agencies work and this is how UNLV and the Board of Regents will behave.
Trust me on this- the stadium is as good as built and the taxpayers are going to be soaked big time despite the huge budget deficits.
