Pawn Stars Review: October 24, 2011

Welcome to another week of Pawn Stars. Las Vegas was in the news today as President Obama gave Las Vegas a pre Halloween scare, err visit. We still have beautiful weather- highs in the 70's and 80's. It was warm enough to go swimming this weekend.
I drove by the Gold and Silver Shop today and now they have a local restaurant selling their food in the parking lot of the store. There really wasn't anybody standing in line but it did look crowded.
Today's first episode was a repeat from June 14, 2010: http://lasvegasbadger.blogspot.com/2010/06/pawn-stars-review-june-14-2010.html
The second episode is new and a Halloween episode. The first guy in the shop brought in a 19th Century Vampire killing kit. It had crucifixes, stakes, holy water, dagger, mirror, silver bullets, garlic, salt etc. The guy selling the kit thought it was worth $9000. Rick said that the kit was fake because it was made in the 1800's. Rick was most interested in the gun that came with the kit. The expert was Joe from Utah, the man who owns the Gatling gun. The gun was from 1840's. Joe said the gun could be antiqued, or make it look older. He thought the gun was worth between $500-1000. Corey offered $100 for the gun but there was no sale.
The story line is that everyone has to dress up in a costume and the winner gets $100 in store credit.
The next couple brought in some paranormal research gear. It is used to see, capture or hear spirit voices or ghosts. They had a camera and a laser grid. One employee thought he had seen a ghost in the store. Rick said he would make an offer if the couple can prove that the Gold and Silver Shop was haunted by a ghost. No sale.
The next guy brought in an antique keypunch machine from the 1940's. The man wanted $3500 and the Old Man offered $500 and $650, then $800 and that was the deal.
The next guy brought in a Jabba the Hutt Play Doh set from Star Wars. The box was never opened. The guy wanted $100 and Rick offered $40 and then $50 and that was the sale price
For the costume contest, Chumlee was Justin Bieber, the Old Man was John Wayne with an eye patch from True Grit, and Rick was Dr. Evil from Austin Powers and Antwan, the security guard as the world's largest baby.
Happy Halloween everyone(even though it is next Monday) Thanks for stopping by.
