From the Chicago Tribune: Three males - 17, 33, and one whose age wasn't immediately available -
were killed and at least 5 others wounded in a three-hour stretch this
evening in shootings on the city's South Side. A sixth person was
wounded early Saturday morning.
The first of three homicides
happened about 5:45 p.m. in the city’s Bridgeport neighborhood. A
33-year-old man was shot to death in the 3100 block of SoutH Wallace
Street and pronounced dead at John H. Stroger Jr., Hospital of Cook
County, a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.
Police weren’t able to provide details about that shooting.
Someone
opened fire near 79th Street and Drexel Avenue in the Chatham
neighborhood, hitting a 42-year-old woman and a 17-year-old boy. The boy
died and the woman was shot in the leg. Both were taken to Stroger
Hospital, police said.
A third male was killed about
8 p.m. Someone shot him in the 8800 block of South Prairie Avenue in
the West Chesterfield neighborhood. He was first listed in critical
condition with a gunshot wound to the back but he later died, police
said. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-woman-teen-wounded-in-east-chatham-shooting-20120824,0,5211283.story
Sounds like Chicago needs another community organizer. Hopefully, in January 2013, they will be able to hire one from Washington D.C.
And it seems that Rahm Emmanuel is doing a bang bang bang up job as mayor of Chicago.
