Instead, in a lightening storm that threaten the safety of his staff and military crew, he took his Obama Helicopter to Lake Las Vegas for the night to stay in his luxury hotel room.
First, there are some hotels that could have been used for his highness, including a Holiday Inn Express, just a block or two from Nellis, and when he wakes up, Obama could become smarter, according to Holiday Inn's commercials, if he stayed there.
He also could have stayed at the Aliente Casino in North Las Vegas, just a short drive from Nellis and close to where is speaking tomorrow. Obama already has stayed at a casino hotel before, so this would not be a bad choice.
He also could have stayed at Nellis, where they do have housing, including some brand new housing, a block from Nellis.
If he really wanted to save taxpayer money, he could have stayed at the Budget Suites and Inn, 1 block from Nellis. But I am sure the gun shots and drug deals would have kept him awake at night.
But no, Obama had to stay at Lake Las Vegas, a non-union luxury hotel that is a long distance away from Nellis, even if it is by helicopter.
So, Obama is going to take a round trip helicopter ride from Lake Las Vegas to Nellis, burning all this fossil fuel, adding more to the climate change Obama believes in.
And here is Obama at his latest news conference:
There is a clear reason that Pres Obama and his staff had to stay away from the Valley - at LLV - the notion of the secret service agents near strip clubs could of been a disaster.
ReplyDeleteHowever, he could not of picked more Republican Area if he tried./
I am by NO means an Obama supporter, quite the contrary. I also would agree with your point about Obama's decision making. However, I disagree with your take on his stay at Lake Las Vegas. In fact I believe his stay at LLV is a brilliant choice. Let me explain.
ReplyDeleteFirst, geographically speaking, Nellis AFB is a straight shot over to LLV by air with little disruption to the city. Take a gander at a Google Map. Also, this brief flight over was a good choice for fuel being that there would be less aeronautical maneuvering needed if he stayed somewhere closer to town.
Second, due to the economic downturn and being mid-week I'm sure there were minimal people staying out at LLV. This makes for a better more efficient use o resources logistically on the ground when dealing with the public and more secure with less people to "watch".
Third, being out at LLV creates an optional choice of evacuation through Lake Mead National Recreation Area if need be by land which would take him right to the back gate of Nellhimation need be.
Finally, President Obama's stay at LLV brought some much needed publicity to the resort area that many forgot was in "The Valley", including yourself. That publicity hopefully will create an economic boost to the businesses and the folks that work there. Now that's a good thing union or not. By the way, when was the last time union mattered in this town?
Anyway, I can confidently say that the choice for Obama to stay at Lake Las Vegas was brilliant because I know he wasn't the one who made it.
that guy should have not been accepted by the people of LV, MORE SO LLV. AFTER ALL WHEN HE TURNED DOWN PEOPLE WHO WERE SUPPOSED TO HOLD THEIR CONVENTION IN VEGAS A FEW YEARS BACK, THE CITY LOST LOTS OF MONEY AND CAUSED UNEMPLOYMENT. HOW COULD LV ACCEPT THIS GUY, M ORE SO VOTING FOR HIM? HE CAUSED LV LOTS OF DISMISSED EMPLOYEES BECAUSE HE SUGGESTED THAT THE CONVENTION SHOULD BE HELD ELSEWHERE BUT NOT IN VEGAS!! SHAME ON YOU OBAMA!!
