Sad Day In Iowa

From the Desert Moines Register: Two metro-area police officers were shot and killed in apparent "ambush style" attacks early Wednesday.Police from Urbandale and Des Moines departments responded to a report of gunfire at the intersection of 70th Street and Aurora Avenue at about 1:06 a.m.

The first officers arriving on the scene found an Urbandale officer shot. The officer, whose name has not been released, died, said Des Moines Police Sgt. Paul Parizek in a news release.

According to scanner traffic, they have a suspect but they are not in custody. 

These officers are the 49th and 50th officers killed by gun fire per the Officer Down Memorial Page.

RIP to the officers and prayers foreign  families, friends and departments.

Update: the thug is captured and just FYI, the thug is white.  The thug has a long criminal history.
