Well, it's been a quite a hot week here in Vegas. If you come to visit the shop, I would advise not to come in the mid to late afternoon. It'll be very hot and uncomfortable and there is no shade to shield the sun. It's going to be in the 110's in the next week. Time to stay indoors.
In the first episode, the first guy brought in letters from the Kennedy brothers. John, Robert and Teddy. The guy got them from his aunt I believe. Time for the expert. Drew came in to look at the letters. After looking with a big magnifying glass, the signatures were made by an automatic. Oooh, the seller was pissed. Ted's signature was done by his secretary. No sale.
The next guy brought in a Coca Cola air line ice chest. Another Coca Cola product? And they aren't even sponsors. This is the first time I heard Corey call the Old Man, "Grandpa". He wanted $400. The Old Man and Cory offered $100. And that was a deal. The man thought it was a fair price but based on other shows, I think he got ripped off.
The next lady Salvador Dali and the author of Alice In Wonderland book. It was very strange. She wanted $10,000. Rick countered with $5000 and there was no sale.
The next had the guys went to a man's house with 2 rooms of Transformer toys. Hundreds of them, or close to it. The wanted $20,000. Umm, no. My wife Cathy, (http://thelasvegascat.blogspot.com/)who is a Transformer expert, said he had the bad guy collection, not a good guy collection. Time for an expert. The expert was Johnny Jimenez. He thought the collection was worth $15,000 to $20,000. Rick offered $5000 and then $10,000 but there was no sale.
The next guy brought in a bunch of Mickey Mouse Phones. Rotary phones (those old enough remember rotary phones). The guy wanted $375. The Old Man offered $250. After a lot back and forth the phones went $275.
The last guy brought in an antique straight edge razor. Some barbers I go to still use straight edge razors, including Fred's, which is a true barber shop. It's located on Craig near Nellis. The guy wanted $400, Rick offered $50 and that was the selling price.
In the 2nd episode, a lady brought in an American flag that went to the moon during the Apollo 16 mission. It also came with the three astronauts autographs. They brought in Mark from the Clark County Museum. Mark thought it may been real if the signatures were real. So, they brought in Drew, again. He said the signatures were real and not made by an auto pen. The lady wanted $23,900. Rick offered $3500. Then it went to $4000 and that was the sales price. cash money.
The next guy brought in a Civil War Colt Rifle musket. The guys thought it was a fake musket because it was too clean and it was time for Sean to come in. There were parts that were replaced. So, the gun was real and not a fake. It is worth about $1200-$2000 on the market. The guy wanted $1500 and Rick offered $700 and then $800. No sale.
The next guy had the guys go went to a house to see an chicken egg laying machine. Actually we have chickens all over the Las Vegas valley, including next to our school in the heart of Las Vegas. But this is more of a toy like a gum ball machine. The electronics were not in good shape. The guy wanted $2500 but Rick didn't want it because of the extensive work it needed.
The next guy brought in cartoon art of Lil Abner and Dick Tracy. The guy wanted $3000 for Lil Abner and Dick Tracy $1000. Rick offered $2000 and that was it and that was the sale price.
The last guy brought in Super Bowl pins made by Coca Cola. It was for the first 20 Super Bowls, which of course includes 2 Green Bay Packer pins. The guy wanted $300 and Corey offered $40 and it was the selling price.
In a previous episode, Chumlee said that Corey was a State wrestling champion. After Googling and going to Yahoo, I couldn't find any information about that. If any one knows, that would be interesting to know.
