From today's Las Vegas Sun: "Nevada’s foreclosure pandemic has attracted a slew of scam artists hoping to take advantage of homeowners desperate to avoid losing their homes. In response, Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto on Tuesday announced a new public awareness campaign to help citizens spot fraud and point them toward legitimate businesses.
At a Tuesday news conference, Cortez Masto, along with Las Vegas Ward 6 Councilman Steven Ross, introduced the Stop Foreclosure Fraud initiative and website, StopNVForeclosures.org. Homeowners can fill out an online form and request assistance from counseling agencies approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Department."

Well, it's about time. The foreclosure crisis has been going for 3 years and now they are public awareness campaign to help people spot fraud? Nothing like closing the gate after the cattle have left the barn.
So, why now? Why not in March? Last year? The year before?
Maybe because there is an election in a little over 2 months? Nah, that can't be it.
