From Yahoo News: White House spokesman Bill Burton said most Americans care more about the economy and wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and "they are not reading a lot of news about what religion the president is." He commented on Air Force One as Obama headed for a vacation in Massachusetts on Martha's Vineyard.
Burton added, "The president is obviously a Christian. He prays everyday."

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the only time Obama prays is when he says "Jesus Christ!!" on the golf course or when he sees his poll numbers.

Obama is nominally a Christian. He went to that church (for 20 years!!!1!!1!) that so many right-wingers were always so upset about, right? But whether he's Christian, Muslim (doubtful), or non-practicing agnostic/atheist (which I suspect), what fracking difference does it make? There are no religious tests for office, and there shouldn't be. I'm only dismayed by the fact that the White House deems it necessary to bolster his Christian cred. I'd prefer a world leader that didn't bow to superstitious nonsense.
ReplyDeleteI think I agree with you. If he is agnostic, so what. Don't make up things like saying he prays everyday if he doesn't. They seem to be going out their way to make him sound religous.
