Patterson, NJ and Minot, ND recently have gone through floods. Patterson got hit by Hurricane Irene and suffered some flooding while Minot has been suffering through flooding from the Souris River for much of the Spring and Summer.
Today, on the CBS News radio news, a lady was heard talking to President Obama and say something to the effect: "send us money. don't send it tomorrow, send it now".
In Minot, ND, President Obama has refused to visit the site of this disaster, where several thousand people lost their homes to flooding. The residents of Minot are not demanding that the federal bring money to the city right away. In fact, FEMA is helping out quietly with trailer homes and providing some money to the area. Most of the people in North Dakota are self sufficient and don't rely on the federal government to survive.
In Patterson, NJ, send us the money. Minot, ND- we'll be as self sufficient as possible. And we don't need Obama to make us feel better.
