Exciting Weekend For Las Vegas Motor Speedway

This weekend over the Las Vegas Motor Speedway as the NASCAR Camping World trucks and the IZOD Indy cars will be racing. For the LVMS web site: http://www.lvms.com/
The trucks will be racing on Saturday at 12:30, with the gates opening around 9:00. Normally, this is an evening race, but probably because of TV and the IZOD races the next day, they are starting at 12:30
On Sunday, the Indy Car Lite's race starts at 10:00
The big Indy car's race begins at 12:45.
This is a big race for the Indy cars for several reasons: First, it is Danica Patrick's last race in the Indy car series. Good Bye, Danica.
This is also the last Indy car race for the season and there is a championship at stake, along with winning the race. Right now, Dario Franchitti leads Will Power by 18 points followed by Scott Dixon, who is 55 points down.
There was supposed to be a $5 million challenge where a non-Indy car driver could enter the race and if they won the race, they would win $5 million. But no one stepped up to the plate to try and claim the $5 million, so this say something about the Indy car drivers.
I am an Izod Indy car fan. Their races are exciting, they drive close together and they are not afraid to be aggressive drivers, unlike the NASCAR Sprint and Nationwide drivers that drive like like a little old grandma's going to church on Sunday. these drivers will be going around 210 MPH around the 1.5 mile track. There will be plenty of passing and side by side driving, unlike NASCAR.

So, if you want something to do this weekend in Las Vegas, beginning on Friday, the Las Vegas Motorway Speedway is the place to be. Exciting races and cheap ticket prices (tickets as low as $10 for the IZOD race) If you go, come to the race early and leave late to avoid the traffic jams. The cops do a good job getting you in and out of the track, but it does take time.

So, Las Vegas, let's show that we can handle a major league event. We blew it at the golf tournament last weekend, so we have another weekend to redeem ourselves.
