From jsonline: Milwaukee police are investigating what Chief Edward Flynn on Saturday called an extremely rare case of "fetal abduction" that led to two homicides.
A newborn baby and his 23-year-old mother are dead, and a 33-year-old woman who had posed as the child's mother is in custody, Flynn said at a Saturday afternoon news conference.
A neighbor said the suspect had given the impression in her appearance, comments and behavior for months that she was pregnant. Experts say that's common in cases of fetal abduction.
Flynn outlined these facts:
The suspect called 911 on Thursday and said she had just given birth, but the baby was not breathing. Police and emergency officials rushed to a home near S. 7th and W. Mitchell streets and found the baby boy dead.
The woman was also taken to the hospital.
An autopsy of the full-term infant and further investigation led police back to the same address on Friday, where they found the body of the 23-year-old woman in the basement.
"The baby had been removed from her womb by force," Flynn said. He declined to identify the victims or the suspect.
Flynn said there is no evidence the two women knew each other before Thursday, and that police are not looking for any other suspects or anyone who may have assisted the 33-year-old woman.
He said police expect to refer the case to prosecutors this week.

How terribly sad for the victim and her family. The victim is about to give birth and a perfect stranger comes up to and kills you and tries to steal your baby and then the baby dies.
RIP to the mom and her baby.
