Don't Jump To Conclusions

Two stories are hitting the airwaves with a lot of people jumping to conclusions.
The Trayvon Martin case in Florida has people jumping to conclusions that the killer of Martin, George Zimmerman, who, by the way, is a Democrat, ought to be arrested, drawn and quartered all without a trial. The trouble is that the media, until today have only reporting one side of the story, Martin's side.  Seems like it is possible that Martin may have actually been the aggressor.  We just don't know, but people have jumped to their own conclusions and some will end up looking like fools.
The second story is the Obama Care trial at the U.S. Supreme Court.  The pundits today, both conservative and liberal are saying that the justices are going to over turn Obama Care, which I hope they do.
But don't let the justices say in court fool you.  The justices love to play games and let people think they will vote one way and then it when it comes for the vote, they vote the other way. The justice's job is to ferret out all the facts in a case and then make their decision.
But just because someone says it is true, it just may not be.  The Martin case and the Obama Care case may look one way but the reality maybe another.

  1. Regardless of the details of this case, the fact that they let Zimmerman go--potential murder weapon and all--with no charges, is the reason this got so big. It shines a big, honking light on the "stand your ground" laws, especially when every version of this story I've heard points to Treyvon Martin being in the postion to "stand his ground." If he hit Zimmerman, it sounds like he had plenty of cause.

Turn it around for a second. Assume everything went down exactly as it did (with us semi-in the the dark on the details), except Zimmerman died, and Martin was the shooter. Do you think the cops would have just said, okay, on your way young man? That kid would be in jail, and you know it.

As for "ObamaCare," I'm not really affected by it personally. But I'm also completely in the dark about what the right thinks is so odious about it. It's very much like RomneyCare, and further to the right than earlier Republican health care proposals. Nixons was more left-wing in nature. I think it has EVERYTHING to do with the guy whose name is on it.
