From the LVRJ: It didn't take long for Southern Nevada's elements to put Las Vegas' new City Hall to the test.
High winds that whipped through the region earlier this week crumpled three of about 230 solar panels on the roof of the seven-story building, which hosted its first City Council meeting on Wednesday.
"We found out about the holes in the building where the sand comes in," Mayor Carolyn Goodman joked during the meeting as she described high winds buffeting the building. "I thought we were in an earthquake."
According to Terry Murphy, a spokeswoman for building developer Forest City, damage was limited to the rooftop solar panels.
The panels are fitted into mounts which are held onto the building by ballast.

So, another strike against Green Energy, the same energy that President Obama and Crybaby Harry Reid love and support.. If the solar panels cannot withstand 60 Miles Per Hour (MPH) wind speed, which we get at least 2-3 times a year here in Las Vegas, then what? If it were not for those pesky power lines providing us with the necessary electricity when we need the electricity the most, we would have been SOL.
But Obama and Coward-Crybaby Reid think it is the worth the cost of people to lose their electricity and possibly lose the lives of the people who live in these towns. The Democrats claim they are for the poor and the middle class when in fact, all they are doing is supporting utilities, many of whom are privately or run by the government.

Solar power for homes can be a real money saver, as they provide hot water, heating and energy for cooking. Sure there is an initial investment but it will pay for itself over and over again.
