From The Miami Herald: As Johnson left the jail, a few miles west in Davie the Dolphins were starting a Sunday training session without Johnson, who had been trying to win a spot on the team.
News of his arrest broke late Saturday, but it wasn’t until Davie police released Johnson’s arrest report the next afternoon that the event’s more explosive details become public.
According to what Lozada told police, Johnson head-butted her while the two argued in their tiny Smart car parked in the driveway of their house on Juniper Lane.
Lozada, a VH1 reality TV star, then ran to a neighbor’s home in the posh, gated community, police said. That’s when Johnson began cursing about his pro football career, which has recently fallen on hard times after a decade of standout play.
Johnson then took a ride around the neighborhood, but was stopped by police. He admitted to a confrontation, the police report states, but claims Lozada, not he, initiated the head-butt.
The argument began as the couple, who married on July 4, returned to their Davie home after shopping, the report states. In the trunk of the car, Lozada found a Walgreens receipt for condoms. The quarrel escalated, ending with the head-butt.
“She has a pretty good-size laceration on her forehead,” said Davie police Capt. Dale Engle.
Lozada said Johnson gave it to her, while Johnson countered that he was actually the recipient of the head-to-head blow. Cops apparently believed her side of the story, and arrested Johnson on battery charges just before 9 p.m.http://www.miamiherald.com/2012/08/12/2947931/chad-johnsons-bond-set-at-2500.html#morer
One of the first thoughts were these:
If there was a car I don't think Johnson or his wife would not drive, it would be a Smart car.
I think this will make for a wonderful reality show as both of them crave attention.
If you are cheating on your wife of one month, do not leave a receipt for condoms in the glove compartment. That's why there are garbage cans outside of the Walgreens or CVS.
Domestic violence is bad, but one can't help to think this whole thing is a set up, with cameras around somewhere. If it wasn't a set up, then Johnson knows better than to put himself in the position of being accused of domestic violence.
I am glad the Dolphins cut Johnson because he is a distraction to a team and I highly doubt another team will pick him up.
Still, a Smart car? Sheesh, every time I see a Smart car, I want to tip it over.
