In Nevada, the GOP has a chance to take over Nevada Senate but it seems like the GOP doesn't seem to want to win, either by choice or by stupidity.
One reason is this: I am a conservative blogger but I have the second biggest, reader wise, independent blog in Nevada, based on the numbers from Alexa. Right now, I rank around the 180,000 mark in the United States with readership of about 6000 to7000+ readers a week. World wide, I am about 1,375,000
With that being said, how many Republican candidates have contacted me about their campaigns? None.
(4 years ago, Joe Heck reached out to me and the blog and see what happened to him- he won)
How many GOP candidates have asked me to write something about them? None.
How many GOP candidates have asked me for money? 2 Heck and another guy.
How many candidates asked to advertise on the blog? None (not that I would allowed them to advertise, but what's the harm in asking)
Now, I don't have any political connections, I don't know any politicians personally but I do know some read the blog.
So, why don't politicians contact me or other bloggers to get the word out about their campaigns? You would think that they would want as much publicity as they can get and not rely n the media to get their message out.
That's not to say that I would print everything they request nor would they be immune from criticism when need be.
But you would think that there would be some campaign staffer out there for the GOP who would track blogs that have a good readership numbers and reach out to them, but apparently they don't and so, the GOP is missing opportunities to reach out to voters who read blogs.
I am not sure if the liberals/Democrats do the same thing- Jamie or capper would be able to answer that one.
But the GOP gurus who run the national and state campaigns are missing opportunities and in a tight election, every vote counts but apparently the gurus don't really care. Unless you give them cash money, they don't care.
