Tomorrow is the Ironman World Championship 70.3 race that goes from Lake Las Vegas to Henderson and then around the Green Valley Parkway.
The Ironman World Championship 70.3 is held at Lake Las Vegas in
Henderson, Nev., located just minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip.
Since its inception in 2006, the championship race in the global Ironman
70.3 Series was held in Clearwater, Fla. until 2011. More than 1,800
domestic and international competitors will earn the right to compete in
the Ironman World Championship 70.3 by qualifying at an Ironman 70.3
event.
Slated for Sept. 9, 2012, the race begins with a 1.2-mile swim in
Lake Las Vegas at Lake Las Vegas Resort. Next, athletes will embark on a
challenging 56-mile bike through Lake Mead National Recreation Area
that includes several steep climbs. Participants will finish with a
13.1-mile run through Henderson’s scenic residential areas with views of
the Las Vegas Strip.

If you live in the Las Vegas Valley, come out and cheer the athletes and if you are driving in the Henderson area tomorrow, watch out where you are going as you do not want an athlete hood ornament on your car and I am sure the athlete would be be just be a bit pissed off as well.
It's a great event and we need to support athletes like these men and women and these athletes are some of the best tri-athletes in the world, in different age groups. They also have a physically handicapped division.. I went out last year to watch and support them and it was neat to see them run by. I just wish I had done something like this when I was younger.
