From The Madison Capital Times: During a lively post-debate roll call on a bill requiring ultrasounds before abortions, Republican Senate President Mike Ellis got so worked up and banged his gavel so forcefully and often that he broke the base. He shouted at Democrats: "You're interrupting a roll call and that will not be tolerated, sit down!"
The bill passed 17-15 on a party-line vote with Republicans in favor. The bill now goes to the Assembly, which is expected to pass it. Gov. Scott Walker has said he will sign the bill if it reaches his desk.

Did this guy seem like an inspiration to you? Because he came off as a colossal jackass to me. You're correct that Democrats were angry about the way this was pushed through, and even correct that Dems can come off whiny when they do so. But--good grief--why do Republicans often have to come off as such incredible dicks when they're in charge? Seriously.
ReplyDeleteAbortion isn't my issue, like at all. But I suspect all of these over-the-top attempts to shut it down are in reality an effort to get it back before the Supreme Court. AmIRight?
No, I'm not trying to glorify Ellis because in reality, he is a jackass in real life- also arrogant.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't invite him to dinner because he'd probably break a plate over my head because the meat was underdone.
