For those keeping track at home, 2 days, 20 shot, including 8 today.
From the Chicago Tribune: A 35-year-old man was killed and at least eight people were injured in shootings across the city that started Tuesday evening and continued into this morning, according to police.
About 10 p.m., a 35-year-old man was shot multiple times after an argument in the 900 block of North Long Avenue, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
The man fled partway down the street before collapsing, police said. He was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.
In the most recent shooting, a man standing with a group of people was shot multiple times in the 3300 block of West 60th Street, Greer said.
Moments before the shooting, a black Ford Taurus pulled up and someone stepped out and yelled gang gang slogans, Greer said. The group of people standing outside responded with gang slogans, and the newcomer who had stepped out of the Taurus opened fire, striking the man, according to police.
The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chi-shootings-overnight-crime-violence-20130611,0,501129.story
