Binions To Close It's Hotel

Binions Gambling Hall and Hotel will soon have to change it's name to Binion's Gambling Hall. Today, Binions decided it was going to close it's hotel tower and layoff 100 employees. The last day of business is December 14th. My guess is that they did not have very many guests registered for Christmas and New Years so they closed early. The fact that the Golden Gate just opened up a 500 bed hotel tower last week didn't help matters. http://www.lvrj.com/news/breaking_news/Binions-to-close-hotel-tower-lay-off-100-workers-78149717.html

Binions has had a colorful history in Las Vegas. Read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Binion

Hopefully, these employees will find jobs, but it will be very tough.

City Center, which will open this month just hired 12,000 employees for their series of hotels, shops and casinos. But after the grand openings, some of those employees will be laid off because they won't be needed as things level out. This happens almost every time a new casino opens. They overhire and layoff the new employees.
So, good luck to Binions and it's employees who will be laid off. You will need it.
